We have one with 52mm or 2.047 inches. i don't know if that's too big already. It's the JAN III for 6-string models and it also comes for fretless models. Hope this helps.
Yes, wood glue would work as well, yet we still recommend a more thin fluid glue that doesn't produce such a thick layer in-between the neck and the just-a-nut. And no, exchanging a just-a-nut I for a just-a-nut II is not a different procedure. Thanks for your support!
Basically yes, you can install an JAN on a non-Warwick bass - given that the neck width and the way the nut is placed are similar. You have to check those two factors first. With some brands this won't work, but there are others where it will. And we offer special JAN versions for fretless basses - you can find them at the website shop.warwick.de
Would love to know the glue please. Just had the just a nut 3 installed, but only strings holding it in place. Really would like it to be more securely attached
Thanks for this! I have a cheap 2006 5 string RockBass by Warwick with a plastic nut that has broken. Where can I find the measurements needed for replacement?
Is this the same procedure for a "cheap" 2006 Rock bass by Warwick Corvette standard 5-string? I don't see a "seam" where the bottom piece would pull up to separate from the wood and just a bit concerning. I have the part but want to make sure I won't screw this up since it's the more affordable older line. Oh and the type of glue? Super? Epoxy?
it still remains the same procedure - removing the one, removing remainders of glue, applying glue and putting the other one on. If I may ask - why would you want to change between those two?
Yes, we offer a JAN 3 brass as well for left-handed basses, of course. you'll find them on shop.warwick.de under "parts for instruments". Thanks for watching!
I have the same question other people are asking here: What kind of glue did you use? They just glossed over the glue part really quickly in the video without giving any details
Rare event that a JAN II breaks? I have owned 7 Warwicks and i have had broken JAN IIs on 4 of them, the otherones were equipped with JAN III thata has not broken ;)
I thought I was the only one. I had 2 Just-a-nut II broke. A 02 Thumb 5 and a 06 Corvette Standard. The brass Just-a-nut I on the 94 Masterman never breaks.
What kind of glue do you use? I know the main thing holding the JAN on is the strings. But I don't want to over/under do it. How is the tone of the Tedur as apose to the bright brass?
My Corvette Rockbass was bought in 2008... De nut is a bit different... And my model is 4,5 cm, instead of the 4,3 that most vendors offer today. What can I do? Is the neck really changed on this model?
Hi i was hoping you could answer my question,im currently in process of buying a 2013 warwick thumb SC 5string,the just a nut on the bass looks plastic and not brass.the owner told me that the bass is totally original, that it came with the plastic black coloured just anut, should it not have the solid brass nut or am i wrong?as far as im aware from 2010 all warwick made in germany basses come with the solid brass just a nut 111,this bass was built in 2013 and has the plastic just a nut 111.many thanks.
thanks for the reply, yes the seller assures me the bass is a 2013 model and is as new,but it has the tedur just a nut,he assures me this is the way it came..ummmm.
I have a '98 Streamer LX 5 String with the stock nut (JAN II, I believe), so according to you, this would be made out of tedur. I happens that the upper part of the nut, where the strings rest, has collapsed over the years, changing the shape to an opposite to the fingerboard radius shape. Since the brass nut is out of my price range right now, can you guarantee that the same thing won't happen with the tedur JAN III?
I have a 1990 Streamer Stage I 6-string with the first JAN, and those fiddly little screws drive me nuts every time I replace the strings. Would a JAN III fit on there?
I had a "professional" replace my JAN2 to a JAN3 and they didn't glue it back on or remove old glue. It stayed in place by the force of the strings. I will now do it myself correctly. What brand glue do you recommend? Is it possible to use a glue that is "too permanent"?
***** Thanks for the super quick response!! By too permament, I guess I meant a glue like krazy glue or super glue. Something that would be really strong, to where if you wanted to take the nut off in the future, that it would cause issues trying to get off. Sounds like I just need to find the thinnest glue with light hold? Because there is no reason to use a super strong glue as the strings will be pushing down on it.
Can I use the 38,5mm Just-A-Nut 3 on a soundgear neck (36mm nut)? Could I file it down 1,25mm on each side, or would that completely mess up the string spacing?
Dear Caleb, yes, the 5 string version is made to fit with the 135 B-string. Please have a look on our shop. Cordiall, Anne shop.warwick.de/?kernel_search_word=Just+a+nut+III&action=
Dear riffer64, yes it will. Please have a look on our website. Here you will find the nut and the specifications. Cordially Anne shop.warwick.de/?kernel_search_word=Just+a+nut&action=article_search&site_step=10¤t_site=2
This is an old video, but need to replace my JAN II with a JAN III on my fretless Corvette. I’ve ordered the tedur JAN III. Can you let me know which type of glue should I use? Would be super helpful to know which one exactly to use. Thank you
Great idea,Gibson just put a patent on it,but i think Warwick did it first. As usual, the american cynism and hypocrit ! All what isnt forbidden is permit!

Thanks Warwick! These videos are amazing tools to the end users!!!
What glue did you use?
Do they make this sort of nut for guitar? The adjust-ability would be very useful.

It’s super glue

I really like these videos, I now have two Double Bucks one is fretless...
hola, tengo un problema, se me despegos la ?nuez del bajo aliens standard, que pegamento puedo utilizar ?

"In the rare event"
I had 2 Just-a-nut II broke on me over the years. That sure is rare.
The JAN-2 are really flimsy. Never had a problem with a 3 and recommend everyone to replace their 2s.
I have a 1990 Streamer Stage I 6-string with the first JAN, and those fiddly little screws drive me nuts every time I replace the strings. Would a JAN III fit on there?

My main concern was if I use too strong a glue, that if I change the nut in the future, I could damage the wood underneath and around the nut.

what is the difference between these fretless nuts?
I've got a lefty warwick. Is there a special JAN 3 Brass, which I have to buy?
Sent you a message regarding your question.
Nut replacment video on just a nut 1 also plz! :P
What kind of glue did you use?
Do the brass Just-a-nuts come already drilled for a .135 B string? I'm thinking of replacing mine on my 2002 Streamer and want to be sure.
Dear Caleb, yes, the 5 string version is made to fit with the 135 B-string. Please have a look on our shop. Cordiall, Anne shop.warwick.de/?kernel_search_word=Just+a+nut+III&action=
Can i install a just a nut III on my 91 streamer?
Where can i find thi piece? Please.
nice
There is no difference. I just wanted to make clear that our Just-a-nuts can be used as well for fretless basses.
Will this nut fit on a 2005 Rockbass Streamer Standard?
Dear riffer64, yes it will. Please have a look on our website. Here you will find the nut and the specifications. Cordially Anne shop.warwick.de/?kernel_search_word=Just+a+nut&action=article_search&site_step=10¤t_site=2
