You did it again - another winner. The early scenes reminded me of Northern California, while the desert scenes remind me of where I live in Southern Arizona. Don't know if I mentioned this before, but your descriptive comments add so much to the enjoyment of these videos and are so informative and instructional. And I must add that your choice of the artists and their music are spot on. I'm becoming addicted to them. Thank you for making this day anything but usual.
We just did this road today! We came in from the Coachella Valley down the 86 to the 78. It was an AWESOME drive and it was wide open. Made us fall in love with driving all over again! Your videos are awesome Scott-Thank you very much!
That is awesome! Glad to see a viewer take to the streets and see these amazing places in person. I would love to get your impressions on any of the other drives I have featured on the channel!
@@ridealongwithscott loved your video... I have done that route on my road bicycle lots of times....am hoping to be fit enough to do at the end of this May. 71 yrs old !
When one starts to observe those plants, insects, birds, and animals who survive is such a dry environment the desert takes on an entirely amazing realization. Every living thing in the desert struggles to survive and depends on each other in some way.
Yes I have, coming in to Anza Borrego from the east side is a very pretty drive. I chose Highway 78 to show the transitions from the pines and the mountains down to the desert valley.
Excellent video, Scott, been planning a trip out there, never gone out past Julian, round trip there pretty much a full days ride, so we decided to come down off the 10 along salton sea, cross the park to the west, south on s2 and spend the night down around ocotillo then use the 94 west north up the coast. Harleys, hoping to see the desert bloom.
New subscriber here. I gotta tell you, I was getting a lil ticked off with the subtitles. I can’t read and drive at the same time, but I’m a quick learner. 😂😂 The drive was beautiful and the music was awesome. Thanks for the artist’s information. I had already rewinded to write the names down. Lol GREAT VIDEO!
Thanks for the sub! I am a musician myself, I want to give props to the talented people who provide me with the soundtrack for these videos. Please stream or download their music from your music service, or you can just watch my videos again! :) My wife queues my videos up just to listen to the music in the background as she is running around the house. Thanks for watching and travel safe, Tracy!
@@ridealongwithscott you’re welcome. I will do both. I can definitely dig what your wife does when she’s cleaning. I can’t wait to check out the rest of your videos. Safe travels to you as well.
Another great adventure!… Thank you Scott!!!… One item on my bucket list is hiking in to the Goat Canyon Trestle Bridge there in Anza Borrego! Julian reminds me of lots of the little towns in the gold country above Sacramento! Take Care! A🙋♀️
A great time to go to Anza-Borrego is late March and early April. The wildflowers are in bloom and the desert floor is carpeted in purple flowers in large areas. It's a good time to get out there and hike, too.
I remember this being such a twisty. Hi ride it was really scary. It’s important to let people know this is very high and twisty with big drops and dips. At least that’s what I remember.
It is what I would call "technical" in places. As California mountain roads go, it is pretty easy compared to driving in the Sierras or Big Sur. Highway 78 is still a very beautiful drive.

Wow, thank you! I am so glad you feel me man!

First time I saw a Ring Tail, I didn't know what it was..... Was a "did I see what I just saw?" moment😄
Cool story! Thanks for watching, Steve.

You can do it Steve! Go the downhill route, no need to test yourself, brother!

Thanks for the info and thanks for watching!
That’s a beautiful area, I used to go out to borrego from San Diego nearly every weekend and that and the scenic route up palomar were my favorites
Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s always nice to hear from others who appreciate the beauty of those areas as much as I do!
Great video-- have you ever driven there from Valley Center or Pauma Valley?

Sounds great! Should be a lot of blooms in about a month - we just need a little sunshine. Travel safe, and have an awesome good time!
