"... I don't want my posterity to end in refugee camps..." That is the most honest & profound, starkly rational admission by a humble man, Aravindan ji, when asked what motivates him to keep himself engaged in this thankless job of defending Hindu dharma. The naked truth of potential annihilation (a highly insidious process) that stares our civilization is captured in that simple statement, to which most complacent Hindus ("we have survived for 5000 yrs" kind of Hindus) would simply react with a dismissive hand wave. What is apt here is to quote the great Nassim Taleb where he gives his definition of RATIONALITY:
"Rationality in the real world isn't about what makes sense to your New Yorker journalist or
some psychologist using naive first-order models, but something vastly deeper and
statistical, linked to your own SURVIVAL."
Hindus need to grasp the gravity of what it means to be rational... it is about survival. Native Americans did not have this wisdom at their disposal (if they did, they ignored it); so it was for many native cultures that were simply wiped out by predatory Abrahamic religious armies.
Accommodate, be inclusive, but always be aware of the history of predatory ideologies scheming to devour the native traditions and their way of life. Taleb argues that it is perfectly rational to keep EVEN those much-maligned superstitions alive, if they help your communities survive and let the future generations thrive!
Those Hindus who decry Hindu rituals, festivities, temple practices as regressive & superstitious or anti-modern need to be aware that in the name of sounding "rationalistic" and modern, they may be helping the secularizing/modernizing forces to emasculate a civilization and render it a sitting duck for the consumption of predatory exclusive systems, with violent histories. Refugee camp may be a very benign state compared to what our ancestors suffered... rape, dismembering, massacre of gargantuan proportions!

According to aravind Neelakant, nearly 200 to 300 years ago the Hindu rulers of Travancore encouraged and helped the catholic missionaries in the conversion of the local population of coastal Kanyakumari even though there was local resistance. if this is true then it may be incorrect to blame conversions only on these missionaries.
