    .what is the accepted or normal range "psi" for Diesel engines?

    • @MarcoPereiraFerramenta-Online
      @MarcoPereiraFerramenta-Online  4 роки тому +4

      In this engine it must be between 290psi and 390psi. But it depends on the engine , but in general a diesel engine has between 250psi and 400psi

    Do you have to bottom out the fitting in the glow plug hole? Every single kit comes with a super short 12mm fitting thats definitely not gonna bottom

    Does that kit can be also used for petrol?

    Would you also do a wet test on the cylinder with 200psi? I read that a wet test will help you distinguish between bad cylinder / piston rings and the valves.

      Hello in this case dont need to do a wet test, whit this values You Need to take the cilinder head off to se what is wrong whit the engine.

      @@MarcoPereiraFerramenta-Online I've got high pressure pump and in that case it would work dry. I guess there must be some relief valve that could be opened instead.

      You could disconnect the electrical connections from the injectors.

      I normally just disconnect the fuse for the fuel pump. Takes 5 seconds and is easy to manage.

      @@TheDannydoe Thats OK for petrol engines. Not a good idea for diesels.

      Maybe - but in all seriousness IF you are watching this then you are obviously a pretty competent DIY mechanic/potcher. Therefore no dialogue is really necessary. A beginner wouldn’t be able to comprehend that the glow plugs are coming off and probably wouldn’t even know that a diesel car has them (DI engines excepted of course).
