- This 2003 Hylander has a parasitic draw of 240 to 280mA that killed a new battery in 3 days. Traced to fuse ECU-B fuse. Draw eliminated by disconnecting the BCM connector. Problem was a passenger door lock key switch requesting the door be unlocked at all times which kept the BCM awake.
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing knowledge.
Great video 👍
Thanks for watching.
Great Video!!!
Thanks
no allowing bcm to go to sleep
The switch input was keeping the BCM from shutting down.
@@PhillipBailey seen it many times in honda door latch has micro switches .bcm will not allow the vehicle to go to sleep causing milliamp draw above nominal .50milliamp after 30 minutes or so
@@davidellenbaum1229 yes and I missed the voltage drop across the fuse first time. Caught it pulling fuses.
I was thinking maybe we have the same problem. My batt is draining 295mA. I havent check the door latch yet. My car is Chevy optra 2006. There used to be a red light indicating that it is locked, now its gone. The lights not turning on. Aftr you cut the wires, Did you happen to see whats the cause?
I'm not sure the Optra would have the same circuits. The wire I cut was from the door lock cylinder key switch. Normally if you lock or unlock the door with the key this switch request all the other doors to electrically unlock. It was requesting a constant unlock request and that was preventing the BCM from going to sleep.
@@PhillipBailey i already checked it. its not the same wire.
