As someone who's renovating every room in my house it's nice to have some variation on the channel and it's re-assuring to see X77 being used here as I'm renovating my bathroom in 4 weeks time using the same adhesive. It will be my first time tiling and I'll be using some of the carpentry techniques you've taught me, story sticks, scribing etc. it's all been so useful, thanks again Robin!
No wonder you're excited about it Robin. The whole project is awesome and the pool looks very inviting. I hope you and your family get lots of enjoyment from it. Well deserved.
I met Vince at the Ardex Academy in Haverhill a couple of months ago when I attended a BAL training day. He was really knowledgeable and a great guy. I'd highly recommend their training days. The one I went to was arranged through Tile & Stone (Norwich) and everyone (including really experienced tilers) all left with more knowledge at the end of the day. It was well organised and I learned loads. Well done Robin for highlighting best practise and doing the job properly. Cheers, Mat from Norfolk
Robin it looks amazing, at some stage in the future would you mind sharing what the running costs are per month / Quarter for such a pool (energy, Chemicals etc) please?
Very informative , what is the main reason for using a trowel applied cement based mortar type pool waterproofing in this project rather than just brushing a two component elastic cementitous slurry. This detail may seem very useless but main practice is generally brushing an elastic slurry as it has all the features needed for this job.
I would like to see something about reducing the echo in there, that would drive me mad. You can install various things to absorb and reflect sound waves to cancel them out.
Morning Robin. Very educational as always, love seeing this pool come along, what a wonderful lifestyle asset and as always the devil is in your detailing! Enjoy the fruits of your hard work, buddy All the best. Martin✊️
Robin is an amazing contractor (like hens teeth these days). This goes to show if you master you craft and provide quality A1 service to your customers you will reap the rewards. 👍
Large format porcs....... Thankyou so much, El Cheapo "so called plasterer". _-_-_-_-_-_-- Is there a chemical additive, that makes the water change colour, if you have a wee-wee in the shallow end?
Hi rob , hope your well, I’ve done my own pool as well 12 m x 8 m. I used a liner for mine . Also and indoor pool. Hope you get your head around the chemical balance , took me ages lol 😂 Any update on latch jig? ATB
I use an auto dosing machine that measures the chemical levels and injects the correct amounts of chlorine and PH to maintain the levels I am running at 0.7ppm on the chlorine and 7.4ph how about you??
@@ukconstruction my pool is hand dose, so check level twice a week and add chemical as needed takes abit more maths and knowing the amount of water in the pool . The system you have sounds great
Tiny comment. The echoes in the pool meant I couldn't hear and follow the words until I swapped to highish quality in-ear buds. Then, I realised the volume was OK, but the clarity wasn't. Living and learning about audio as well as building!
I had to choose a tried and trusted brand for my project, Ardex provided me with much advice and guidance from way back when I was planning the build, I had approached other brands but they did not have the same support so that is why I used them
Looks great, but Ardex pot lifes and opening times are nonsense. I had to abandon using their products because I was throwing away half the product and losing money. Technical support where useless. Gone back to my old brand. Cheaper, but reliable times.
@@lhfloors Yes agreed, ambient conditions can tilt times in either direction. I compensate and adjust accordingly, but in the UK we rarely drift out of the sweet spots. Right now, I'm back to Rocatex c2te slow for walls. Bucket life is superb and has great texture. I can happily mix entire bags and relax if I'm bogged down with cuts. Edit.. I even purchased Ardexs own birdcage mixer to replace my helix style. So I did try!!
Salmonella can cause illness through contaminated pool water, chlorine correctly dosed will kill the bacteria its one of about 5 germs that can affect pools

Great insight and a lovely pool, looks mint
I've been looking forward to seeing more on the pool, great video. I really like the look of the mosaic.
More to come!
Awesome! Looking foward to seeing the plant room
Coming soon!
Beautiful workmanship, truly amazing!
Thank you very much!
Great looking pool, but seems more like an infomercial?
Nothing wrong with infomercials when they're good and it's obvious what they are.
stunning job as always
really nice pool.

Any chance you can do a non-tradies cost breakdown for the building/pool Robin? What a dream!

Wow, thanks!
Is it okay to use rectified tile on a spa spillway or on the pool waterline?
Amazing, you have a beauitful home sir
Thank you kindly
Nice one Rob
Easy to imagine a Carpenter jumping straight in after a hard day at work. Extra pool water filters might be needed for Sawdust filtration! ; )
Thats a very big tadpole in the pool Robin

I have an Asin Aqua Net that I can use remotely via an internet enabled app it is super convenient even just to check the water temperature!!

Hi Dear🌹🌹
How are you doing?
great vid yet again....but you look really tired M8 ...............time to rest and chill is needed for you bud 👍
Would be great advice if it wasn’t coming from someone selling their own product 👍 I’m sure there’s other brands out there that are fine

As a tiler I agree but all to do with temperature in room and surface what do you use now mate

He said the grout keeps out Salmonella? Surely means Legionella? 😜
