It’s so funny, but the barehand combat turned out to be my favorite style of combat. I felt like a god going toe to toe with strong beings with my fists.
This is how I played Kratos in my very first play through. As a seasoned warrior having wielded every great weapon imaginable, the axe is more like a keepsake, and his blades are definitely a young-Kratos set up. I feel like “old-protective dad” Kratos fighting as a pure brawler with old man strength- returning to his shield tactics of Spartan war is so perfect for this game.

My play has dramatically improved after watching this!
Maybe you already have shown this but at 8:40 in the video when you show the dodge back then forward into Haymaker Crush, you can also do the same thing with Agile Strike.
Dodge back then as Kratos is still moving back, quickly move the left analog stick forward and hit R1. You don't need to hold R2 for this. It takes a minute to get the timing right. Then you can also hold R1 to do the Guardian Sweep and finish with the rest of that combo from this video.

Yo I game with classic buttons. But when I do the agile strike strat. I always end up holding the L2 for aiming. But end up eventually doing L2+square/R1 input.

Hello GBG, recently I got back into playing GOW, beat sigrun on the hardest difficulty thx to your guides. I would like to ask, the agile cancel axe tech, is it necessary. Like can I just use the basic cancel.

Good stuff, glad you're still doing this GBG. I left GoW4 for a year or so and decided to come back so it's cool that you're still in it.
The Agile Sweep combo is the hardest one by far. I can do the rest relatively consistently but that one is definitely Game Breaking. I will say to those practicing that if your axe just floats to the ground then you're on the right track. There might be literally 1 or 2 frames where this move can happen as I've been experimenting with the timing of Triangle + X + R1 after the Run + R2 and it's tight.

Just practice the timing I used to have that often so I just went through some areas using that instead of spring to get the hang of it.

What does a maxed out luck, with glowing gem of nine (each hit has chance to enter realm shift) with realm shift dodge. Can only find one video and most be say it's fake or "he used a luck glitch". It'd be awesome if you made a vid on it, you might have already, I just can't find it...

So I know I'm pretty late on this but can't find this info anywhere so I figure I may as well set out a line here: so I know about and have the Traveler's gloves and the enhancement that give additional Barehanded damage. 6% each and the tooltip mentions 18% is the maximum. Okay so... what and where the hell is the third piece of gear you can get and equip alongside the others to get that 18%?
I'd guess you'd be looking for enchantments with a +6% barehanded bonus, Heart of Midgard looks like it'd get you another 6%, but not sure which other ones you'd need specifically

@@RoyEmpire_ you can't its the Ares Gear that affects your rage the only way to get ur rage meter back is by Unequipping the Ares Set

This never use to happen to me before but recently when i sprint and press R2 into frost agile strike the axe would fall off of kratos back instead of calling back to his hand. Any ideas why this is happening?

i finished the game with bare hand 100% in give me god of war in ng+ and normal one and the ng+ is harder than the normal
Ng+ is a nightmare
