Im a 43 year old with the same disease and I play bass. Its so damn hard for me to practice while standing up with most basses. Even some 6 string guitars, like a Les Paul, can get me disabled for a day or two. I relate so much.
I have the same condition with pars defect. I'm 40 and, believe me, it's reduced my life to shambles is every aspect and the constant, severe pain is otherworldly. I'll never be professional again but I hope I'll be able to pick up the sticks again one day.

He wrote most of Shout at the Devil, with Mick Mars writing the instrumental, and getting song writing credit on 2 other songs. All you have to do is look at the song writing credits. Nikki is responsible for the majority of Motley Crue's songs.

The first couple of albums riff wise were quite simple. He'd write them(you can actually write the basic structure of a riff on a bass guitar folks), mick would put his signature too them. It's not unusual. With anthrax, the drummer would write all the riffs, in basic form, the guitarist Scott Ian would put his own signature to them. His own words. It happens alot in bands. Mick wrote alot of music in the latter part of their career, the Dr feelgood era, so when mick says he carried the band at times, he's correct. But no way in the early years when they were beginning, the first 2 or 3 albums, Nikki was the main songwriter.

they are all valuable in their own way- Nikki is the best composer, Tommy is probably the best at playing chosen instrument., Mick had a signature sound that influenced their sound heavily. Vnce--well in his day he had a lot of charisma

Yep just like AC-DC I hear people say it's easy to play but them guys were genius they invented the most simple but iconic catchy riffs and great solos from Angus too. It's the writing, it takes a genius to make an iconic song. Mick mars is underated and definitely the back bone of that band.

Not to be an asshole; But for the most part, bands that use backing tracks ARE indeed playing live in front of you. The backing tracks are there in case of unforeseen events. So the question is; what exactly are you hearing? Live or Memorex? PS: I believe Mick when he said on the last tour he was the only one playing truly Live. But if he had backing tracks here; you wouldn't know it unless he held up his hands and notes continued to play.

I’ve been playing guitar for [does the math] 48 years and I could feel every note Mick Marz played in that solo. Every inflection, every bit of vibrato was on point. You can fake a lot but that was spot on. I saw the stadium tour in September when they blew through town. It was nice that the rest of the band could keep up with him but Mick’s playing was the highlight of the set.
Yep he's playing perfectly! Hitting all those pinch harmonics just like the fans expect like in the album version! How could any bandmate want more from him? He's one of my major influences back in the 80s for metal guitar. What a legend!

If people actually knew how hard it is to get those pinch harmonics right every night. In the studio your hands are nice and dry and if you flub one you can always try again. when you miss it live everybody knows.
Oct. 24, 1987, I ate and drank with Vince and a bunch of strippers. I said "shit I got soundcheck nextdoor." He says "Ya me too, down the street." Only thing down the street was the 15,000 seat Civic Center Auditorium. He gave an all access VIP, and I was like: " Oh that Vince." I watch Tommy's drums spin and was on stage for my own show 10 mins after. Most of Crue and Whitesnake came to see our last set for the night.
No matter what happens, anybody who truly loves Crue will always love Mick. Each of them contributed to the legacy of Motley Crue just as equally. Let the man have his piece of the legacy he helped build🤘

They are ALL legends and great - Mick’s guitar is world class and unique, Vince’s voice adds pop elements, Nikki’s lyrics are fantastic, and Tommy is a top drummer with many memorable fills and live concert innovations. Put it all together and you get what we fans love. But all are needed and all are equal.

Mick will always be the strongest member of that band. His riffs are the songs.
Nikki is the main songwriter, that's even more important, but Mick is a huge part of MC sound and success.
