I hadn’t read this book, but went to see this movie after church today. I cried almost the entire time. I am so grateful that God blessed Karen Kingsbury with the gift of writing heartfelt stories with the heart of Christ.

Great novel! I just finished it today :) I do wish that the setting for Larry, Louise, and Dawson would have remained Portland, OR though. As someone who spent much of her life in Vancouver, WA, I loved that I was familiar with the setting of her biological family/Dawson. Still very excited to see the movie adaptation!

Then don't adopt if something as a fact of a bio family will hurt you. Your decision to adopt doesn't take away from some adoptees labeling their bio family as "real." Next time, adopt a kid who has no living family members
