Vital - free wavetable synth comparable to Serum. Perfect for doing your own sound design. I know some would rather leave this synth to us dubstep/EDM producers but trust me once you learn how to do sound design you can make pretty much any sound you want.
Analog Lab Play - a library of 100(?) presets from Arturia's Analog Lab V collection. It's a lot less customizable than V Collection but still packs a punch.
Kilohearts Essentials - 30 FREE effects plugins that may look small but pack a ton of punch.

Corny synth with like 50 presets total: "loads of sounds" to cook up fire.
On the other hand even the free Diablo plugin is a quality Kick (or even Snare and HiHat) enhancer. The Full Diablo plugin has loads of different parameters and effects.

A very good free plugin is labs by spitfire. I personally use it all of the time. The only problem is it doesn't support pitch bends
Guy from spitfire got fired and created his own company. I forget what it's called but he has a bunch of free plugins on his website, the plugins are called "Vaults". Strings, piano and other =]
