Hi Schnell 👋, Diana had an extremely difficult upbringing. Badly abused as a very young child, she was removed from her abusive parents and placed in an orphanage. The lady in the video is her loving, adoptive mother. This talent show is for underprivileged but talented youth. As a result of her unique talent, Diana was further helped by Igor Krutoy (bald judge). Krutoy is a famous Russian composer who is Dimash’s patron/composer/pianist. A rare true Contralto who can also really yodel! She is a gem...Here she is only 14. There are a lot of commercial singers who can yodel (Jewel is a phenomenal yodeler), but it not a sellable quality. Most people just look at it as a trick.
Diana Ankudinova is awesome! I’ve seen & listened to Rechenka Hundreds of times and it makes me tear up every time. She touches my soul in a way I feel free from my social confines. The words to describe her talent have not been invented yet - because she is absolutely unique! I am nearly 67 years old and I have always loved music BUT I have never heard or seen anybody capable of the kind of performances Diana can produce. This is a few years old now and some of her latest stuff already shows how much she has grown as an artist. I hope I live long enough to witness her full abilities. You got the last name correct. Her first name is pronounced Dee auuna. We just call her The Princess, The Goddess Voice of Nature. You will just be more and more amazed as you hear more.
As far as I heard, Diana took up singing when she was not even 5 y.o. on logopedic recommendations in order to overcome a speech impediment. Since then she not only sang solo and in duets but took part in many of the children's musicals. I can't say that she had any formal training in the art of acting but I guess it is one of her natural talents. BTW this year she has started her formal theatrical education at GITIS (in Moscow), probably the best school of the theatrical arts in Russia.
She was 15 here , Russian prodigy, Angel 😇 she has a true Contralto Voice , her tone , voice control is epic ..she will be 18 in may,her childhood was tragic abuse, beaten and nearly killed by Her birth mother , found her on the street in the middle of winter with a broken shoulder at 4 years old taken to a orphanage and did not speak or not well , a wonderful women who worked there adopted her and sent her to singing lessons to help her with her speech, now everyone is speachless! She actually was adopted by a single lady when she was 6 years old. She was busking in Moscow when she was 12 or so. Her talent could not be ignored, and now, as a teenager, she is becoming a superstar.
Thank you for your reaction to Diana Ankudinova. Diana actually turned 17 on 31st May 2020, but was 14 at the time of this performance. The show she is on here is Ты супер! (translated as "You are Super") and it is for children who have found themselves without parental care at some point in life. According to the programme, Diana was abused by her biological mother until around the age of 3 years, and ended up in an orphanage. While there, a massage nurse named Irina Ponik - the lady with dark hair and glasses seen briefly in the video - took care of her, and a strong bond was formed, to the extent that a year afterward Diana was adopted by Irina, and Irina has been her "Mom" ever since. It seems that for the first year or so Diana would hardly speak, and singing lessons were recommended, and the rest is history. Diana is now with a loving family, and her music training goes from strength to strength. Since winning the show, she has received much support from Igor Krutoy - the bald guy on the judges panel - who is one of Russia's foremost composers and song writers. Krutoy also arranges and writes songs for Dimash, accompanying him on piano. Everyone talks about all the really obvious amazing things in this performance but, nobody mentions the fact that when she is yodeling and get picked up and put into the boat, her voice is not affected at all. There's no bobble, hitch, jiggle, break or anything. It's like she is still just standing still on the stage when she is actually being lifted, carried, set down. That is such amazing control.

I came across her recently and in my 52 years of living and 48 years of hearing music and being an audiophile to the Nth degree, I have very little reference to go on regarding her. In Russia, at weddings they sang sad songs to scare away evil and the marriage of a young couple was to be happy. I think the combination of her voice and the language itself makes her sound more interesting than Cher even if the vocal techniques aren't that alien. I'm fluent in English and Russian and to me it's not as exotic as someone singing in Mandarin combining opera and rock as an example. When she sings French I get more chills than when she sings in Russian. That's just me.

When she was born she was abused by her Mother until the age of 3 she was left on the streets. At age 5 she was placed into an Orphanage where she didn't fit in so a nice lady adopted her and worked with her day and night until vocal lessons with yodeling brought her out to the stage and she loved it..As soon as possible the 2 moved away from where they were and left the past behind..Now you see the future..She tried out for the voice Russia and not one judge turned around..She performed Yodeling..Still she left smiling that beautiful smile of hers...

I think the combination of her voice and the language itself makes her sound more interesting than Cher even if the vocal techniques aren't that alien. I'm fluent in English and Russian and to me it's not as exotic as someone singing in Mandarin combining opera and rock as an example. When she sings French I get more chills than when she sings in Russian. That's just me.

When she was born she was abused by her Mother until the age of 3 she was left on the streets. At age 5 she was placed into an Orphanage where she didn't fit in so a nice lady adopted her and worked with her day and night until vocal lessons with yodeling brought her out to the stage and she loved it..As soon as possible the 2 moved away from where they were and left the past behind..Now you see the future..She tried out for the voice Russia and not one judge turned around..She performed Yodeling..Still she left smiling that beautiful smile of hers...
