At the age of three in the middle of Russia's far northern Winter, she was abandoned, injured, at a bus stop where she was rescued and sent to an orphanage. At the age of 5, she was still traumatized and unable to speak properly. A massage therapist who visited the orphanage trying to help kids was the first to recognize something special in this little girl, and eventually adopted her. Diana was sent for singing lessons because it was thought that this might help her learn to speak without impediment.
Only two years later she started singing in local theater, and in street plays and performances. And soon after was entered in a Russian TV music competition for disadvantaged children. By the age of 10, she was winning local competitions, singing on live TV shows, and her songs started showing up on UA-cam.
Two weeks ago, at the age of 18, her first performance during a new Russian television competition with several other renowned performers, has gone viral and has garnered hundreds of UA-cam 'reaction' videos, and millions of viewers. Her first song at the competition, an entirely new take on Elvis Presley's 'Can't Help Falling in Love with You' has been called mesmerizing, transcendental, and other-worldly...it highlights her uniquely deep voice, and effortless range from low to high, along with her trademark dramatic and passionate interpretation.
Diana Ankudinova sings mostly in Russian, English, and French. She has also sung in other languages including Spanish, German, and Arabic.
Singing in French, at the age of 10, on a Russian TV show... a viewer: 'at the age of 5 she couldn't speak her own language, how can one see this and still doubt past lives?':

My interpretation of it all, when she sings that wonderful and super emotional cover is that she's a faraway and exiled witch girl (that can manipulate others with her magical and positively cursed female voice) living in the darkest woods far from civilization and have fall in love with a human boy (a boy she stalks almost every time ,when she's at the outskirt of the woods, close by the human city in which he's unaware of that she does..)from the royal palace that she KNOWS she's never can (not only due her condition of being a witch girl, but also when she talks, then it goes unusually manly deep despised by many snub and irrational royalists and other lower rank human citizens ,where the human boy are among with constantly. It however goes very well, when singing with it, though. Her most ultimate capabilities) have in which that hurts her so almost deadly bad and that's why she's mesmerizing emotionally expressing herself with this unique cover of that wonderful song of Elvis P. a voice so dangerous and mesmerizing that it destroys almost all on her path where she is in the woods after ANOTHER unreachable love-sight of the human boy....Yeah..lol....

The beginning of the clip looked like the Earth is arising from the depth of the Universe. Impressive idea
as a reactor myself I found this to be a most epic performance on the level of some of the best vocal performances out there, I think this is diana's greatest performance, everything she does is amazing but this is on another level even for her, I put this up there with some of the best vocal videos i have watched on par with when i first watched dimash sos, angelina jordan, and nightwish ghost love score amazing love music discovery through reactions
and i think listening to the judges comment were as heartwarming as the performance itself, to hear the judges thoughts and feelings of what they just heard was awesome, make sure to watch cause you didnt in the reaction

Вот что мне захотелось сказать по поводу этой реакции. Искренний, ожидаемый восторг, все эпитеты для этого невероятного голоса сказаны правильно и их ещё не раз многие повторят. А я испытал какое-то дополнительное чувство, помимо эстетического и эмоционального восторга перед этим исполнением. Что-то вроде чувства гордости. У нас в России создали зрелище мирового уровня и по музыкальному исполнению, и по визуальному ошеломляющему воздействию. Наша русская певица Диана Анкудинова сделала номер такого уровня, что видавшие виды американцы в самом деле ошеломлены - они не ожидали увидеть такое потрясающее зрелище. Те из них, кто уже слышал Диану, конечно, ждали какого-то сюрприза, наподобие "Human" или "Wicked Game ". Но такого исполнения они точно не ожидали. Впрочем, и мы тоже не ожидали - тем больше наше восхищение Дианой. Телекомпания НТВ, как бы не относиться к этому шоу, сделала огромное дело, в том числе и для престижа России. Не только газ, ракеты и пшеница. Не только талантливые учёные и спортсмены. Но теперь еще и Диана Анкудинова. На Западе это будут воспринимать, как новый российский брэнд, наряду с такими, как наши знаменитые оперные певцы, кинорежиссёры, спортсмены.

Hey Schnell, hope the baby is doing great. Diana is on Russian TV every Saturday for two months. She is uploading all her performances on her official UA-cam channel. Last Saturday she just sang a A 300 year old Russian Cossack song called "Oh, it is not yet evening", about a dream of a Cossack vision of impending doom. Diana brings the house down. She belts in her lower register at the end and it's just amazing. Diana provides good English subtitles as well.
It's almost like the person was talking to themselves in the beginning, pondering their immense love, but making an effort to hold themselves together. Gradually, their senses are overwhelmed by it and their control begins to crack. They MUST shout it to the heavens and express that passion or be rendered mute by its power. Just some thoughts. :) I adore this performance!!! Goosebumps and tears!

Nope...haunting is the only way to describe it. She was in danger of making it sound too much like her version of Wicked Game but she did a great job of keeping it just fresh enough. Goosebumps every time I hear her.
