- We get asked a lot what Motorbike we have and how we carry it with us on our travels
Here, Jon shows what we do to fit our Honda MSX 125 in the garage of our Motorhome

This was filmed on a phone a few months ago before we invested in new equipment so you might just need to pop the volume up a smidge :P
Thanks. Just bought a GROM and a tri-fold ramp. Now having my Chevy G20 van built out with L-track and a fold up bed. Better than a rear hitch carrier.
Ah nice one! Yeah much better that having it in the rear of the van, have fun on the Grom!
An excellent video Jon. So useful to see with many tips too. Really appreciate it. Many thanks. I'm looking at doing exactly the same. Found and bought the moho, now for the small light motorbike!! 😅 Cheers and thanks again.
Glad it was helpful! 😁😁
Thanks Jon, really helpful especially the Velcro tip. As the TT was cancelled this year I have not yet attempted to put my 125 Madass in the garage of our Autotrail or get Jayne to ride passenger!!!
Glad it helped. You'll have to take the bike for a little spin, Tash was a nervous passenger at first but now she loves it
Really good info.
Were not full timers so we have 2 scooters and a trailer have no garage. + a frame car so we do have a choice. Really good weather scooters come out . Not so good or with friends car comes along .
Cheers for watching! it’s great to have that extra bit of versatility isn’t it when travelling, means you have more options for exploring
Great video love the bike great wat to get around after a parkup.
Thanks for watching, it sure is.
Thank you very much helped me soo much not many videos on this so really interesting and helpful 👍👍
Ah wicked! Glad it was helpful, we never found many like it so happy we could share it 😃
I my word. Now you've done it! I already love your Motorhome, now you've added a nice Bike to it, that's just too awesome! Soooo jealous! I might have a Motorhome but I do miss my Bikes. GREAT VIDEO! 😎👍
Oops haha sorry! Cheers for watching 😁👍🏼
Enjoyed that video. Always wondered how you get a bike into the motorhome garage. Thanks for sharing. 👍🚐
Cheers for watching 👌🏼 yeah most people don’t believe us when we say we get a motorbike in the back
Like it, the bike must give you more independence. Thanks. Richie.
Cheers for watching 👍🏼 it definitely helps when we’re in tiny rural places
Really useful watch! We don’t fancy towing a car behind our Motorhome so eventually when we’re not fit enough shall get a scooter 🛵😉👍🏼Some great tips! Cheers both.. Michelle and Andy 😃😃
Thanks, glad it was helpful. I don’t think we will ever see the day you guys are not fit enough to ride your bikes though 😜💪🏼
Great video. A lot easier and cheaper than towing a car, thanks for sharing👍Mark & Coral
Thanks for watching, it works for us at the moment.
Excellent. Thanks!
Not sure if you still have this bike, but I thought I would say anyway. You can buy mirrors for GROMs that go under the bars. Look cleaner and would make storing the bike that kittle bit more easier.
Thanks for watching, Sadly we haven't, but agree with the under bar mirrors it would have been my next mod.
I push mine in rear wheel first That way you can control the front brake all the time and steer it into postion. Also plywood on the floor with wheel locators fixed onti it. This is so with heavy braking or even worst an accedent the bike will not swing sideways .
The MCC will be at the Stratford on Avon event hope to see you.
we’ll have to swing by and say hi 😃
That's a nice solution. I do like those straps. BTW Jon's becoming a real pro at this vlogging lark! I don't have a bike or a motorhome, or indeed any straps, still enjoyed watching though Good vlog, thanks for sharing.
Thanks, not sure I’ll ever be as good as you but I’ll keep at it
Brilliant, the European manufacturers offer great garage space. Hope you’re both keeping well 😊👍
Yes they really do offer some practical layouts with great space! We’re good thanks! Looks like you guys are too, enjoying the MH life 😁🚐
At last a UK video showing a motorbike/scooter loading into a MH garage 👍
We intend to use a Scooter, possibly a Honda Vision 110 if it'll take two of us up the hills 😀, if not then a 125. Also looking at the Chausson range and potentially the Titanium 640 where we can also up plate to ~4000kg if needed.
Thanks Colin, when I first looked into getting a small motorcycle to fit in the garage there was not much information and no videos so we hope this helps.
We looked at the scooters but found they were quite heavy in comparison to the Honda MSX, it is a shame that they don’t do a 300cc engine as it does struggle a little up hills with 2 up, but it is a nice option to have if we want to leave the Motorhome on a site.
@@lifebeyondbricks I'll also look and test ride the MSX two up. I have a new style Honda Forza 300 but that would be too heavy and large to fit through a door, unless a huge Malibu style garage with a 300kg garage weight limit, then you need Malibu money. Other option is to tow it on a side trailer with swivel wheels? Thanks.
Nice one and a nice little bike. At first I didn't think that would fit but the camera angle was deceiving. 👍
Thanks, Yeah the bike is ideal for getting about
Awesome 👍🏻
Cheers! 😃
Have you thought about some performance mods for a bit more power? Wouldn't add any more weight.
Hi! Sorry I’ve only just seen this comment. I did think about it but never got round to doing anything and we don’t use it as much now. In fact we might be selling it, I’ll be sad to see it go as its a fantastic bike
this is incredible, I imagine the economy and comfort that this bike can offer during the trip. I don't speak English, i'm Brazilian, so I couldn't understand much, but I could tell that the bike is very safe. Does anyone know the distance between the mattress and the ceiling? if even with this big garage is it possible to sit on the bed comfortably?
Thanks Danilo, The Honda MSX is a pretty cool little bike and being 125cc is very economical.
We run our Garage height the same all the time so we have 94cm from mattress to ceiling we have had no issues sitting up in bed.
great video just what i want could you please tell me the size of your garage please and many thanks
Ah that’s great! We hadn’t seen many people do it so we wanted to share. I’ll have to get Jon to measure the garage as I don’t know the exact dimensions!
Useful cheers 👍💙❤️💙❤️
Hope it’s helpful! Cheers for watching 😃👍🏼❤️
Great video, thinking of buying the Honda Grom to carry internally in the MH we are about to purchase. What's the height of Grom once you remove the mirrors? My concern is the Grom won't fit internally with the garage height I have, may have to drop the handlebars also.
Hey! Ah that’s wicked! I’ll have a quick measure when I get a sec and let you know 😁
So we’ve had a measure, it stands 110cm from the floor up to the handlebars (without the mirrors on)
@@lifebeyondbricks - Thanks, starting to look like we’ll have to carry the Grom on the back of the MH. As the MH we are looking to purchase doesn’t have the garage height.
Thanks Jon, how did you support the bike whilst ratcheting it down, on the side stand?
The shape of our garage floor aids this for us as it’s quite a narrow floor section with raised steps either side, which means the foot rests of the bike lay against the step as soon as the bike starts to lean making it a bit easier for us. Our previous Motorhome had a really wide flat floor with no steps so I used a block of wood and the side stand to keep the bike a bit more upright. Using a Velcro strap to hold the front brake on also helps to stop the bike from rolling away. Hope this helps Nick.
Life Beyond Bricks cheers for the info Jon, really appreciate it
Could you not fit bar end mirrors so you dont have to keep removing them?
Yeah I could but just havnt bought any, I’m ok with taking the mirrors off for now 😆
Jon’s never taken in that way, unless it’s strapped on tight 🤣🤣🤣❤️👊🏻 Love it 😜😜
I was starting to get concerned no one would pick up on that 😂😂❤️
Hi ,looking to get a grom for my motorhome, what’s the opening size on your motorhome
Thanks
Nice choice 👍🏼 I will measure up and let you know as I don’t remember off the top of my head
Just like that. Glad we've got no room in our garage lol 😉
easy as that! 😆 ❤️ don’t reckon you would tow a little bike at all? 🏍
@@lifebeyondbricks no because Kev's a danger to himself. He ended up in hospital years ago. Knocked off his lambretta. He even falls off his bicycle lol. He can leave it to the professionals 😝
@@letsgosomewheretravels9476 Oh yeh! Like in Buxton he took a tumble and hurt his hand
@@lifebeyondbricks oh yes I forgot about that one. And he has recently fallen again when we were up Redcar. His bruises took weeks to come out 🤕
@@letsgosomewheretravels9476 Oh Kev!! Needs to be more careful x
I think I’m glad our garage is full 😁🙈 Jon makes it look so easy that I’m sure we’d end up with one.. 😁
😂 ‘mand we need to move some of your sewing stuff to make way for the new bike’ ❤️
Jon, wont the bike put you over your weight limits wondered what your payload is?.
Nah our payload is 4.2t so we are well under. Weight is one of the reasons we chose this bike though because it only weighs 101kg. Even in the Dethleffs we were under as that was 3850
Thanks for that Jon, what bike is it, I’ve been away far too long off bikes need to get back on one miss the freedom.
Mark Hill Thanks, it’s a very fun bike to ride to be fair. It is the Honda MSX.
Nice little bike but that's all you need
Thanks, Yeah it suits us perfectly for what we need. Although I want a CB300R but Tash isn’t sure it will fit in the garage
@@lifebeyondbricks go and try one in it and then you will know r not
A 125? Try a KTM 390
