I babied an iPad Pro 2017 with a good case. Never abused it and never dropped it. A year and a half later, the touch response quit. I didn’t know I needed apple care + for their quality control or their design flaws.
same, my ipad pro is in perfect condition except it stopped charging out of nowhere -- they told me i need to replace the whole thing since they do no repairs. makes me upset since I treat my products with care
My 2017 pro has the white spot issue and sometimes doesn’t register touch. I’m trying to make it last till the new M3 models come out
It’s an electronics device that can happen to literally anything including your car 😂. Of course you need insurance for it to be fixed. Do you think it’s free? No other company is going to fix your shit for free either.

Honestly, I think it’s a steal AppleCare +. I’ve owned a few Apple products over the years and never really took out Apple care+ until last year my iPhone 11 dropped out of my pocket has I was slamming the car door closed which resulted in a bent iPhone11 . Took it too Apple and was pretty much told me if I had Apple care it would have been covered . Trust me I was gutted. So when I renewed my contract this year . The moment I got a iphone14pro I covered it straight away. Trust me it’s definitely worth the money in the long run even if you’re careful anything can happen at any given time .
Would it be worth it for battery replacement? I always use a case n tempered glass so I never cracked a phone but battery is the only thing that usually goes down
They will only replace the battery under the AppleCare policy if the battery health is less than 80%. Which I find to be a bit of a scam.
I am just coming to the end of my 2 year AppleCare warranty which I bought when I bought the phone. Recently my battery has done a nose dive and I’m unable to easily get through a day on my battery. Just using google maps for one short trip will drain it dramatically. Brought the phone in yesterday with my policy and they will only replace it at a cost of almost 100euro because the battery is at 85%.
I also asked them to check the ear piece as I find it hard to hear calls and they said there was nothing wrong with it. My word against theirs so they won’t fix it.
So I bought the warranty but get zero for it despite having legitimate reasons. Apple know how to make beautiful looking hardware and amazing amounts of money.
On new phones apple care is only 2 years. Unless you pay monthly which ends up being more. For me, iPhone batteries usually start to go out at around 4 years

If it’s only for battery, it depends on you, for the 14 and 15 series a new battery without AppleCare is $100 if you have AppleCare and it’s below 80% battery health replacement is free

The great thing about the iPhone is the solid build quality and flat screen which limits damage. Slap on a proper case with a tempered glass screen protector and you don't need AppleCare+
One reason people would want AppleCare is so they wouldn’t have to have a screen protector and case, because they like the natural feel of it. They like the form of it.
It feels good to have it just how it is.

I think you proved exactly the opposite of what you are claiming. You are right about that it's a tool. So what the point of babysitting a tool with a case that makes the it heavier and uglier? I stopped using screen protector and case anymore because I realized that it's just a phone that will eventually be traded in after a few years anyway.@@adequatequality

Meh. Anybody can break a device any myriad of reasons. Another of people like the protection. Just like I like full coverage on my car. And house. And pretty much anything else expensive to the point that it might cause me monetary pause if I break it.

Apple care just saved me on a 14 pro max the back got replaced so like a new phone would have been 700 but Apple care clutched
Dropped a dumbbell on my previous iPhone 13 Pro which resulted in a smashed front & rear glass (carelessness I know) apple quoted me around £650 to repair
I just waited for the 15 pro to release and made sure I purchased the apple care for £179 for the two years. A damaged glass which is replaced with the apple care makes up for the cost of the apple care after one replacement so I think it’s worth it

You bet it’s worth it. I upgrade yearly to the latest Pro Max or what ever it will be called. I have never broke or lost a phone. But, with theft and loss included for that if it ever happens. I like the assurance.

I have an 8 year old with ADHD and serious anger control issues. Apple care was one of the most vital products I ever got being he’s been through 5 iPad screens in 2 years….
I have AppleCare+ Against Theft and Loss and have safe 100 of dollars not paying a penny for change of:
Face ID
Change of screen later
Change of speakers
Change of Battery
Sounds like a ripoff that you have to pay on top of what you pay for the service

Who ever bought the apple care plus bought it for the iPhone replacement, screen replacement and battery replacement that cost way more than paying for the apple care plus so before you post a comment pay attention to what they are selling and than tell me why should be free to get a new screen replacement??? It’s worth it for me because I buy the newest phone and keep it for at least 3-4 years and I break screens constantly until I can find a good sleek case that can deal with the way I use my phone or I trade it in.
So it is not a ripoff for you if you pay 400$ for a new screen instead of 30$??

I’ve used an otter box on all my iPhones and knock on wood they’ve always stayed in mint condition after being dropped a gazillion times
