1ml per gallon? Mixing the measurement types? 😁 Would you need to change the PH gradually rather than one sudden change? Can sudden changes affect/harm the fish? I have read about soda water being used in place of carbon dioxide gas in an aquarium. That would be an interesting future topic. PS: Another well presented video, clear and concise, well done.

Yes, pH should definitely be changed over a prolonged period of time. However, I decided to do the quick 2 hour tests just for the video.
I’ve never heard of soda water being used to lower pH but it does sound like it would work and I’ll definitely go into it in another video.

what the ratio for the rain water to the tank? should I change all my water?

I’d recommend to do small water changes with the rain water at first just to see how your fish react to it. Then if everything goes well you can start increasing the volume of your water changes. ☺️

When it comes to fish keeping, the most important thing is to keep constant water parameter including pH. Do not alter pH using vinegar. It wont stay the same level overtime. The pH fluctuation will kill sensitive fish.
Best way to lower it is to mix it with RO water or if you have planted tank than use CO2 injection using controller.

I definitely should have pointed out that pH should only altered over a prolonged period and I completely understand what you mean about the vinegar.
