Well holy crap everyone! I'd forgotten about uploading a few videos here prior to starting the official FarmBuilder channel ( ua-cam.com/channels/11kHJNUV88Qp-Sz06N1o1A.html ) and this video came up in my suggested feed. Thought it looked familiar! LOL Almost half a million views is mindblowing so I'll leave it up here. If you want to watch more videos about our farm and things I'm up to, check out the FarmBuilder Channel to keep up.
Joy Alba do not create roosts like this. It incentivizes a pecking order and that’s exactly what your chickens will do, peck at each other for dominance. Also they will poop on top of each other. Always make roosts at same level.
The Hens are in lovely condition we had a hen farm so pretty clued up on them, their conditions are good there clean and warm thanks for having some thought for your Hens and Ducks well done.
Excellent ! Black, water filled 30 to 50 gal. drums were set strategically inside a friends converted greenhouse housing a small number of chickens, turkeys and even some vegetable plants in raised beds over a compost pile generating heat as well.
After watching your video I adopted some of your concepts into my chicken set up. I built a 20'x10' steel covered run - nothing of the scale of your operation. But for my flock of 16 birds it gives extra space for the birds beyond their 8x6' sleeping hose. For winter I wrap the sides with plastic sheeting that keeps the cold winter winds outside. In the mountain area I live (1865 ft above sea level) our winters are milder than yours but do have occasion to dip down into the teens...with blistering winds. Because they are in the run during spring/summer/fall months, the 4 months of winter are less of a transition for them because they have familiar access to their run complete with swing, tree stumps and treat balls. Thanks for sharing your set up, it was a fine inspiration for me.
When it comes time to picking out a duck to harvest for a celebration, I'm pretty sure that lone white one's thinkin', "This is bullshit man!" I had to pause the video for a couple of minutes to get the laugh out and over with.
What type of ventilation do you have in there? We have a hoop coop for our small 30 hen flock & they produce tons of moisture. I ended up taking the greenhouse tarp off the top of the door for ventilation purposes.
I am fond of farm life. I am from Pakistan I want to work for you I want to work and live in farm house open air.I am sick of city life, if you can help me.

Wow. Chickens and ducks are neighbors.

You care about your birds, your setup is so much more humane than the egg factories.
Which country is this , would this work in Canada we get -40c
I think the ducks would like a nice pond or maybe a bunch of kiddie wading pools
The ducks are actually funny to me, so are the chickens. I love chickens tho. Entertaining animal.

Good question? I don't see any ventilation system at the green house hoop. I think, that is not smart plan!
Appreciable.
Holy crap those ducks are loud
this reminds me of the clay-mation movie "Chicken Run"!

I think he said 30 ft wide by 150 foot long...each one I understood it to mean.
good job....keeping them off floor saves them from feet issues. "Reds" do well in cold weather...sturdy type...
Fantastic!
How many birds can we accomodate in 1200 sq feet area ? Reply for both hen and other one
ravishankar tripathi You can accommodate 540 hens and 60 roosters, or 600 hens alone.

1 chicken = ~1,6 eggs / two days
