So my 2023 ran roughly the equivalent RPM request as it reported rotation but never went over 1A draw. That could have just been the oil viscosity (65°) that had yours show approximately double or it could be a slight rounding difference versus what you showed. Thanks for the heads up as I added it to my CarScanner view for future reference. 👍🏼

I decided I need to start Posting my Insite into your Videos. Me I'm a Master Kia/Hyundai Technician I also hold a Masters Deg in Applied Science from ASU. When you see these TSBs, it will normally mean, a very tiny Percentage of these cases have occurred, and Hyundai has released this info to help the Technicians to make the correct fix. This is not a Recall. As for your anecdotal reasoning: Definition is an adjective (of an account) not necessarily true or reliable, because based on personal accounts rather than facts or research: That can put things in people's minds. That can make them create unreasonable Assumptions. At my current Dealership we have not seen any of these failures with us having a large population of these Vehicles in are area.

Thankfully, I have only had turtle mode displayed on my dash when my big battery was very very, very, very low.
But I don’t think it ever entered real turtle mode until I got to -5 miles range.
    Thanks Corbin

    • @lanceareadbhar
      @lanceareadbhar 5 місяців тому

I've once had the turtle mode pop up once because I severely underestimated the impact that below freezing temperatures and incline had on the range and it popped up a couple times going uphill on a highway at like 3 miles remaining and went away once it leveled out or went downhill. It came back on once I hit zero miles remaining on flat ground going 35 three miles away from the charging station and got there at negative three miles remaining. Would not recommend.
The only other time I came close to the same issue was when I went to a charging station that turned out to be closed while they rebuilt a Sheetz, but in that case I waited at a slow charger for 25 minutes just to make sure I didn't run into the same situation getting to the closest fast charger.

MY EOP didn't work from day one in my car. It took me self-diagnosing the problem with help from the FB forum to get them to look into it. Then it took 8 weeks and a "hyundai master tech" to fly out and confirm what I had told them. Finally got my car back and haven't had any issues with it since last summer. Glad to see hyundai is learning, even if it's at a turtle mode pace

I had the same thing happen (dead from day 1) with the PTC heater on my EV6. Self-diagnosed with OBD Link and Car Scanner app, and it was finally fixed under warranty. Problem is that the Kia "technicians" are largely incompetent; some will not work on EV at all because they are afraid of getting zapped (electricity!). I like my EV6, but if Kia does not get their shit together, I may sell it and never look at a Hyundai/Kia/Genesis product again.

Same here 2023 AWD and after about 50 min of driving the rear motor would reach 200 degrees and quit, only front motor working. No trouble codes. Took way too long for me to convince Hyundai to replace the EOP. It was OBVIOUS that the EOP was dead. (We are on the bleeding edge.) All is well now, just got 3.8 miles/kW on a 200 mile run through the Blue Ridge Mts. Great car.

So ninja turtle kept popping up a few times, drove for about another 1mile down the road to find a safe spot to pull over. Car went pretty much dead by that time just rolling. Popped the hood absolutely no pink fluid, if I'm correct pink is anti freeze then about a few minutes later the refill coolant decides to pop up on the dash, alittle too late for the warning. As you can see only 800 miles! Has anyone had this problem? Or is this a common issue among these Ioniq5? I know of the ICCU issue with these vehicle but not sure of this problem. Was not expecting this at all. Left me and my family of 5 stranded on a busy highway in 93°weahter for 3hrs. So any help or advice would be greatly appreciated and what action would you suggest for hyundai to take care of.

You should really go look at how many warranty extensions and TSB's are out there for basically every car ever.
This is nothing special, and pretty normal stuff honestly, across both EVs and ICE cars. You're watching a UA-cam channel dedicated to these cars. They aren't talking about all the TSB's for a Ford focus for example. My 2013 focus has a tsb that, if ignored, can result in an exploding gas tank. Just some perspective for you.

I own a 2023 Ioniq 6. I have had it for less than a year. My Ioniq now has 2 NTSB safety recalls and 3 Technical Service Bulletins as well as an unresolved tapping sound from the rear brakes and the safety cameras intermittently go dead. All of these issues have occurred in just the first few months of ownership. With the exception of one TSB pertaining to the remote door key proximity lock/unlock not functioning, the recalls and TSBs are all serious situations. The two NTSB recalls pose the risk of the vehicle suddenly becoming inoperable. Further, my dealer says they have not received training yet to repair the rear driveshaft recall. It is irresponsible of Hyundai to have these sort of factory defects and not properly developing and testing the Ioniq 6 before putting it on the market. Despite the Ioniq’s great looks and good handling, I can no longer recommend anyone buy it. Hyundai is a great disappointment.

I would wait for the 2025 refresh of the Ioniq 5 that has the NACS port and as long as you are okay with the small chance of being one of the unlucky people to discover some of the issues that have cropped up. For most people the major inconvenience is going to the dealership more often than originally expected to get whatever update or part is needed that will be fixed for free. I'd personally still recommend it if you've done all of your research on the pros and cons of EVs, are able to charge overnight at home (by far the biggest benefit of any EV), and are okay with going to the dealership every 9 months to fix something that was found and also get your tires rotated which is needed more often than an ICE car.
The refresh will have fixed all of the current issues, and presumably the issues will get fewer and fewer each year. Every new car can have issues and it's just really luck whether you happen to be the one that gets one with some of the worst issues and have to wait a long time for them to come up with a fix. I've never had issues and absolutely love the way it drives as long as you rarely have to make a U-turn.

Samsung, another Korean company, was well known in the last two or three decades that they used the first round of customers as their beta testers. Recall the flaming batteries? I think they learned their lesson, but it makes me wonder if this isn't a Korean manufacturer strategy. Here we are with a Korean technology only a few years old, and it seems like we are becoming the beta testers for Korean EVs. I wonder when this beta testing period for Korean EVs will be over. We have other Korean products/appliances that are problem free-we bought after the customer-beta-testing period ended.

Just wanted to thank you for helping in making my decision to buy an Ioniq 5.
I brought it yesterday and from my very limited time with the vehicle I think this could be the best car I ever owned.
I do have a concern and I would be interested to know what you think about it.
The car was bought as a certified pre-owned vehicle from Hyundai, and it was "put in service", according to the dealership, in 4/2023. The car is a Premium model and it had only 56 miles on it at the time of the purchase, which included my 10 mile test drive (they claim it was a loaner). The looks and feels brand new, in and out. I was able to negotiate a very good price for it (nearly $20,000 off the original MSRP)
My concern is that no one was able to tell when the vehicle was charged (when I took it for a test drive its battery was at 91%, and it was set up for 90% DC charging and 100% AC charging). I am not sure if there any long term effects on health of the battery staying fully or nearly fully charged for nearly a year. The car does come with the full factory warranty starting 4/23, just don't want to deal with any possible battery issues in the future.
    Thanks again.

I've been hearing a lot about these EVs killing Tesla. You can talk all you want about panel gaps, Tesla doesn't have this shit happen..
You'd be a fool to buy any other EV right right now, or rich; in which case I could see buying a rivian.
