I too grew up with SM64DS. I always thought it would be nice for the DS version to get the level of attention as its forebearer in modern times, especially in terms of the modding scene. SM64's modding scene is massive. DS? Not so much 😉 Also I appreciate you bringing up the 8-directional d-pad lol
.... because SM64DS was an improvement of an already very good game but on a mobile platform with better controls? Granted, Luigi was quite broken, but people who defend the N64 original are blinded by nostalgia.
@@EgyEmily Could not care less about speedrunners. They aren't playing the same game as the rest of us. Hell, they're trying to get it over with as quickly as possible, which is the total opposite of 99% of players.
Sure they get through the game quick, but the amount of time that they put into the games they run is borderline unholy. Most of them love the game more than 99% of players, which is why they take it so seriously. Definitely a different play-style to most people though lol.
I guess that would explain about the SM64DS Cap not being a thing in Mario Odyssey, since most people are blinded by the nostalgia of SM64 that there's a SM64 Cap in the game but not a cap from the game's remake.

I wanna see your Pingu mod become a full game, it'd be one of the greatest mods of all if it does become a full mod. I thought that animation you did earlier was a cutscene in game, I would've been happy to see that, hahah! (Or maybe it was seeing as it took you a week to make that mod, hahah!) I love this game and I'm even making my own mod (since June 20th 2016, it's come a long way since) and I always love seeing other people making mods for the game as well. It's always great to see SM64DS mods being made.

Thanks! I never really planned on finishing it. I originally made it to hopefully make a video out of, but just making the mod took a whole week and I didn't really have any ideas, so I had to do something else. I eventually thought of this video idea and figured it would fit in somewhere. I probably will make a video updating Working Title at some point, sounds pretty fun and lots of people have been asking. I appreciate the feedback!
I can watch at 2x speed because it takes so long to get to the point. Ever heard if a scene doesnt add to a movie remove it? Thats me waiting for you to get to the point and insight you have. I liked you covering modding especially on ds tho

@@CafeCharlie Maybe you could consider making a tutorial kind of video on replacing Mario's head. You did a great job and even the eye blinking animation works. I haven't been able to understand or get through this process. 😅
@@KingYoshi93 Oh yeah that part is the main reason that the mod took a week to make. One of the problems is that you need to name the replacement texture files the same as the originals. I might do that kind of thing eventually, but it would probably be a while. I've got some spooky stuff to cover starting this Friday.
