    This is what's called loving the game and never giving up on yourself. I don't think I've ever seen a streaky shooter become a legit 40% three-point shooter. It seems unreal. This is the definition of mamba mentality.

      Still streaky asf tho, if you watched laker games you would know. and he’s still not a good shooter off the dribble unless he’s wide open. But at least he’s hitting his spot up’s at a higher clip rn. Hopefully he can keep that up in the playoffs

    Amazing how he adapts even as he ages. From young to prime LeBron using his body, athleticism, and speed to get buckets and be a tank to now adjusting his game by being a more reliable outside shooter. This is how greats stay in the game longer: adjusting their game to compensate for their reduced other abilities. Another example is Curry adding more weight and muscle and refining more of his handling the ball to compensate for his age and loss of quickness.

      Yes he is a better shooter but its really not that big a deal due to the context. He shoots wide open 3. Hes not breaking dudes down off the dribble for 3s nor is he taking a lot of contested 3s

      This is kind of a weird take seeing how LeBron’s evolved during his career from a below average three-point shooter in Cleveland to a pretty good (but inconsistent) shooter in Miami. During his last two years with Miami he’s taken it a step further & is borderline elite. I only say borderline because his FT% hasn’t quite kept pace with his three-point shooting. Even so, his FT% has also improved in his post-year 20 evolution.
      It’s true his form was pretty messy when he was young. It’s pretty darn clean now, however, and he’s become more economical with his energy expenditure. S-tier shooters can keep up their percentages even when they’re tired. They’ll lost a little something when fatigue sets in bit not very much, Good to very good shooters (A tier, B tier) usually need to be a little more economical with their energy.
      I’d grade LeBron in the A-/B+ range as a shooter in his post-year 20 incarnation. His FT shooting vacillated a pretty fair bit during his your. He was basically a low/mid 70% FT shooter overall but his percentage from year-to-year was pretty swingy. He’s still not a great
      FT shooter but he seems to be settling in as a high 70s shooter from the charity stripe. He could crack 80% this year, however.
      His three-point shooting is downright lethal now. He’s always had elite range but he’s married the last couple years to vastly improved consistency and shot selection.

    Kobe looked at the finest bit of details to perfect his craft.
    LeBron looked from a wider point of view and looked at what is collectively effective in the league and used that to his advantage.
    The easiest way to put it is when games make a major change or overhaul to its gameplay, Kobe sticks to what he's good at (because he's maxed it out) and still manages to dominate either way. LeBron on the other hand uses numbers to his advantage and goes with the META.

Truth is: he's embarrassing to watch. Travels 80% of his drives. offensively fouls constantly. Flops and cries. Then goes on Twitter and has the dumbest takes. Dude has lived with zero accountability his whole life. Fuck Bron. 2016 was his greatest moment and he had my respect back then. 45 degree does not give the ball the best chance to go in. It optimizes the distance of a projectile in a vacuum for any particular velocity.l. on Earth outside a vacuum, it's optimized around 40°

    • @bballbreakdown
      @bballbreakdown  11 місяців тому +1

      Well, that’s not what the data says. The Noah System, which tracks arc, analyzed millions of shots. That said, I prefer a little higher than 45. If you consistently shoot 40, you’re going to consistently miss shots. That’s too low

    • @veritasliberatore9360
      @veritasliberatore9360 11 місяців тому

      I am not talking about data from shooters. I am talking about physics. 89.999 degrees will give you the greatest chance to make the shot. When you track shooter s data. You are simply correlating data to the best shooters, it does not mean they have optimized their technique or aim or trajectory for that matter. It just means the best shooters are doing it this way. Optimization of the shot would come from the fields of kineseology, physics, and maybe I'll include psychology (from personal bias). But to draw the inference that the best shooters shoot the best way is a logical fallacy. What if you walk into a gym where everyone is taught to shoot by turning their back to the hook and heaving it over their head. Then, someone starts facing the hoop and drop kicking the ball. Data would suggest the best shooters drop kick the ball I expect. However, as observers, we have knowledge of "better" ways to shoot so the data should be used as a reference to how the best shooters shoot, but not necessarily the best way to shoot. Btw, I have been watching your channel for years and I love your work. When I am busy, I find it to be one of 2 or 3 channels to get the best info of not just what's going down on the court in the NBA, but also fundamental s xs and os for many levels of experience of the game. Thank you for your efforts, I appreciate you and your work.
