Firegrain Oak would be almost bulletproof I reckon.
Man that's a tight groove
I have also tried the sticks. Actually I haven´t found my model. At the moment I am playing the Chris Coleman sticks. That sticks in fire grain would be awesome. But that will never be..... I will try it out again if there are some other models available again :D
Surely it'd be easy to dry out regular sticks in an oven and then score them lightly with a blowtorch to get the same effect?
Oak still rules.
Are the oak sticks heavier than hickory?
@@Mari000 Yes.
Just bought a 4 pack 5A rebound. They are well balanced and do give you more control. 👍
I’ve gone through 3 pairs in a week, not sure if it’s what I’m playing or the sticks themselves
I really doubt that, my last pair lasted 2 years with nonstop playing. I also play metal, so rimshots are a constant. Either you somehow got really unlucky, or your technique is trash.
Vic Firth rules!
Great review I am going to buy these sticks soon but lower the background groove a bit but sounds great 👍🏽 😁
Awesome chops and I own 5b firegrain stix....I love 'em!!!!
These sticks are complete garbage imo. Actually in fact, I bought 8 of them and used em till the broke in half (which is a lot of use) but they all lasted total about 2-3 months which is terrible. I switched over to Vader 5a stick, and it’s ten times stronger. Easily better
i don't like them. i've had multiple pairs and they always split so easily. one time i bought a pair and they were cracked already. but i did get a set of 5bs and those did last the ones i was using are 5a
Wanted to try this, but after leaning it's Hickory, I am having 2nd thoughts. I have always been using Shira Kashi Oak 5Bs!
They won’t damage my cymbals I guess?🤣
What is the sticking in 0:05 ? Sounds KILLER!
Six stroke roll so RLLRRLRLLRRL
Young.Benji so that would be a paradiddle diddle
The first permeation of a paradiddle diddle😉
no it's not a paradiddle diddle is RLRRLL.
Mark William making it the first permeation of the paradiddle diddle
Try the 5Bs
Got the 7a pair, loving them so far
I just got the 5a
Lucky mine lasted one day...
Hey Isaiah, that's definitely not the norm. Please reach out to us at CR.ProMark@daddario.com and we'll address this for you. Thanks!
Do you think these would damage cymbals more tho?
Sorry for the late reply! I wouldn't say it would have a noticeable impact on cymbal longevity. Unlike carbon/metal/synthetic sticks that are ment to last forever, these actually do wear out and break, they just take a little longer to do so than your normal hickory sticks. In the matter of physics, yes, the force still has to go somewhere, but I really don't think it's such a big deal with these sticks. They're still wood sticks, after all.
