      They destroyed human dignity and the family unit almost like the CIA wanted that to happen so we could become a hyper-individualist society with no community, no wonder so many are depressed, and no I’m a anti-psychedelic person I believe they should be legalised but they shouldn’t be used in these situations they should be used on your own spiritually

      As someone who actually lived in the 60s, I have to tell you the world was just as f***** up like it is in 21!! Those hippies caused more turmoil and hate like the dope fiends or what these black lives matter extremists are causing...face facts why would you want to go back to the sixties to deal with the same shit as now but with limited technology!!

    Those were the best years. No guns. No violence. No guns. No hatred. No guns. No jealousy. No guns. Tolerance. No guns. Faith. No guns. Acceptance. No guns. Respect. No guns. Love.

      Violent crime began increasing in 1960. The biggest spike in violent crime before 2020 was the year 1968. The counterculture possessed lots of guns, and a guy who was killed at the Altamont Festival brandished a pistol.

      @blairsterling6141... 1960's and early 70's were an extraordinary and turbulence times to have lived through, we had the civil rights movement in full swing, the Vietnam conflict, protest and riots in the streets, depending on where you grew up in the US the KKK was active in the south. the assassination of John F Kennedy, Martin Luther King jr., Robert F Kennedy, Malcolm X, the Kent State University tragedy where on May 4 1970 were the governor of Ohio sent out the National Guard with live ammunition and open fire and shot and killed for unarm college students who were protesting against President Nixon secret involvement of the bombing of Cambodia, longhair movement on teenage and college guys that was look down upon by mainstream society mostly adults, the women movement of the late 1960's and early 1970's. serial killings and mass murders that shocked America in the 1970s Charles Manson, Zodiac Killer, Ted Bundy, David Berkowitz: ‘Son of Sam’ Hillside Strangler, Jim Jones the founder of the Peoples Temple religious movement and ringleader of the biggest mass murder-suicide in history. it's easy to look back and remember the good times and block out the bad times. it was the best of times for some and the worst of times for others,

    The hippies did not usher in a new world order of love, but they tried harder and came closer than any other generation. And I think they did change the world a little bit. Too bad they had to grow up.

    • @Reggie-The-Dog
      @Reggie-The-Dog 10 місяців тому +4

      I was there, but as a kid. However that generation left a HUGE impression on me. And the 70s were a ton of fun too. No peace and love but lots of partying. The good times lasted into the mid 80s. Then it went slowly downhill until 9/11 crushed it for good.

  • @westtexas7

    I miss the 60s and early 70s every minute of everyday. Society and young people today are totally lost. A generation will come along like the Hippies and Diggers of the 60s and be as radical as we were. Certainly will be a anti - tech novement plus denounce the violence in todays youth and music. Some of us old hippies would be glad to help.

      there was a time and circumstance where you automatically trusted everyone, implicitly. That book is now closed, you won't get far today if you do that. A small piece of our souls vanished as we urbanized, and now few remember what it was like to be in love with the world.

    Also if ya dig this hippy video on youtube 😀 you may enjoy the song " Most of All " By Glenn Kaiser and Where Roses Grow Live by Rez Band Awesome songs check them out. I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and a good question to ask yourself if you were to die today would you go to heaven ? And if yes why ? To find out more please read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on UA-cam. 😀
