Thank you for the informations. I have a rescue puppy 8 months old now. when we rescue her she was very anxious and a lot of digestive problems . I stopped to feed her with kibbles like she used to eat and I feed her with raw food. Now she is much better. You help me to make it better but I would like to know how much grammes per meal my dog needs to eat .she is a medium dog , 28 lbs.
    Thank you. Francoise.

Hello, that's very good to hear that your rescue is doing well on raw food. Puppies need more food and nutrients to grow and develop esp their calcium (eg. raw meaty bones) intake. As a general guideline for fresh food feeding, for 6-8 month old puppies, feed 6% of their body weight, for 8-12 month old puppies, feed 4% of their body weight. Normally 10-12 months of age is when most dogs finish their critical growth (small dogs can finish earlier, large dogs later). That's when you can start transition them to adult feeding guideline which is 2-3% their body weight (active and working dogs may need more). Please remember these are guidelines only, you also need to monitor their body condition score and adjust feeding amount accordingly. Alternatively you can calculate how much calories your pup needs and in each food and feed accordingly. This may not apply to your pup, but if you have a rapidly growing large and giant breeds, you need to be careful not to accelerate their growth by overfeeding because they're more prone to orthopaedic issues than smaller dogs. Hope these infos help you. Enjoy puppyhood moment. I'm sure she looks so gorgeous and thank you for rescuing her too 😊🩷
