    This is SportsCard TV.
    I mainly made my videos in Chinese but sometimes also in English.
    The PSA graded fake cards and fake autos from 2015 Replay are all deactivated now.
    Finally! I've been talking about these fake cards for a year.
    Cheers!

    Only thing I can think of to solve this is for card manufacturers to not only keep a checklist of cards, but also to have a database of images for what they're supposed to look like after being created. Of course doing that for every single card wouldn't make sense, but maybe anything /25 and under can have a picture match, to have something to compare to when purchasing a patch card?

    Upper Deck had counterfeit deterrent holograms all the way back in the 1980's on every single card. Technology today could easily be implemented to prevent further abuse of the market. This was good info Dan.

    If they patch swap on cards that are ones panini with "The enclosed officially licensed material is not associated with any specific player, game, or event" really there's no difference because not even the manufacturer can be bothered to take the time to put game worn in.
    As for fake cards does it really come as a shock to anyone that fake cards are coming out of China, the land of knock-off clothes, shoes, DVD's etc... it's a market that is very lucrative these days so they will make it. When Louis Vuitton was a really big in the mid 2000s China got so good at making counterfeit LV items that the veteran sales people in LV boutiques could not distinguish real from replica.
    What we are seeing now is just the beginning it's going to get worse, a lot worse.

    • @DanTheCardMan2

      Yep, first paragraph is an interesting one. Others feel the same way and it makes sense. Game used stuff is being taken out too though

    • @BinSimmons
      @BinSimmons 3 місяці тому +2

      @@DanTheCardMan2 yeah taking out game used makes ZERO sense to me, like I know they'd be doing it for aesthetic reasons but ask any collector what would the prefer a game used white napkin or a 3 colour part of a letter/number patch that's not associated with anyone/thing aka jersey of the the rack at a sporting goods store & 9/10 will opt for game used

      It's factual that s lot of counterfeit product comes from China I didn't say that it was inherently good or bad because at the end of the day a lot of the worlds goods come from China as a whole. So maybe you should be a little bit more reserved before you want to label people as racist

    Kevin Burge was the OG when it came to putting fake patches in cards. They started by putting insane patches in high-numbered cards as practice, that didn't state "Prime" on them. Some people bought them thinking card companies would use insane logo patches for a card /299 without "prime" or "prime patch" on it. Burge and gang knew the auto versions they used could be slabbed since PSA and BGS didn't authenticate the patch.
    I'm happy PSA will not be slabbing "art" and "custom" cards" anymore. A lot of these people are using modern card designs for their customs and that can mislead any buyers down the road. I'm not shocked Chinese companies jumped in on this and sure they have been dumping fakes into the market for a bit. I wouldn't trust a single Wemby Prism Silver even if it was slabbed.

    A big problem in cards is the difference between perceived value and real value. Cards is all perceived value. And it's set up that way behind closed doors. Its a carnival show. Its concerning that the Chinese are breaking , nothing against Chinese people but it looks like fanatics doesn't need the USA for cards. Corporations go where the money is and that's not the USA anymore

    • @DanTheCardMan2

      @DanTheCardMan2 Yeah, I would think with that size population, everything is a big market. I know little to nothing about how cards are done in China. I thought it was concerning seeing these global mega breaks where large amounts of cases are involved and average buy ins over 20k for regular product. Like what percentage of product goes to these global versions of backyard breaks

  • @Gaming-couch-potato
    @Gaming-couch-potato 3 місяці тому +1

    This is why card companies need to give out a full checklist of what's in the product. And pictures of all patch autos. Regular cards can also be fake however card companies need to be hand in hand with grading companies and let work together and it will help their integrity of both companies. And or we need to stop shipping oversea unless it goes threw a new platform besides ebay authenticity. They need new regulations on their side also

    • @35auburn
      @35auburn 3 місяці тому +1

      The hobby already tries to monitor (identify fake patches, autos, cards,....) but it would certainly be easier if manufacturers/grading companies documented their work.
      Just having a patch archive would fix a lot of the fakes.
      Picasso (other artists) would likely be a pretty good sources to verify their work.
