I love it. To me the Dramatics had two absolutely timeless songs. This song and "Whatcha See is Whatcha Get".
This song was the B side (45 rpm) of "Whatcha see is whatcha get"; we ended up playing this side quite a lot.
MOST UNDERRATED GROUP EVER.
The group that could compete with the Temptations.
Well said, the only group that could match the Temptations.
In the rain "has that effect on you.
Sad but so beautiful. The Dramatics. This was the one.
My Grandson has loved this one since he was 4 years old.
I keep saying this over and over again you are an old soul! You have found some of the most amazing music of the 70s/80s. We need to bring this type of music back, real instruments real vocals.
Bro, now these are my 'National Anthem ' boys here. I see me when I see you now as I was back about 50 years ago when this song was blowing up the airwaves. All man, love was in the air back in those early 70s, and my generation thank YOU for keeping our pulse going, taking us back to our golden era.
You may have been born in '98 but you've got great taste. The songs you react to were HUGE hits in the day and have held up the test of time. For sure!! Enjoy because there's many, many more to react to.
Such a emotional and a amazing song. Got chills hearing it again after all these years. Awesome reaction, you get this song! Love your comment take me back in time! ❤️💕
An amazing slow jam. One of best ever. The Dramatics best record.
"Be my girl" by the Dramatics is a great song, The intro was the thing back in the day, at house parties, when girls heard that first word, they screamed and guys knew which girls to ask to dance. And we got our grind on to that song.
Here's a few suggestions
Brighter Side Of Darkness.....Love Jones
The Moments....Sexy Mama
The Intruders....Cowboys To Girls
Archie Bell & The Drells....Tighten Up
Billy Stewart....Sitting In The Park
Barbara Mason....Yes Im Ready
Soul Generation....Body And Soul
Friends Of Distinction....Grazing In The Grass
The Young Rascals....Groovin
Soul Survivors....Expressway To Your Heart
Black Ivory....Dont Turn Around
Sylvia....Pillow Talk
Spinners....Its A Shame
Blue Magic....Spell
5th Dimensions....One Less Bell To Answer
The Miracles....Do It Baby
Yesss !!!!
Music was so good!! You could chill with natural feelings, not worrying about the song turning out Cochino (dirty) back then they had style, finesse💞🤙🏼👍🏼🎶🙆 Thank You for another great reaction to another Great song!
I used to take my kids outside when it rained. We would twirl around fall on the wet grass, splash in the puddles and even make mud pies. It's such a cleansing feeling to even stand on the wet ground barefoot!
Bro, you are going down the same rabbit hole I once took. Same as many others before me, and hopefully more will do so.
The girl group Xscape did a cover of this for the movie "Love Jones" but I prefer the original.
The Dramatics - Just Shopping ( Not Buying Anything )
What a great Dramatics song! Loved this song back in 1971, and still love it today. Keep getting filled up with these classic jams and our music history "Just Jammin"👍
The late great William (Wee Gee) Howard on lead he also in 1983 did solo a updated version as a tribute to the writer Tony Hester
I’m a 70’s kid, and ohhhh boyyyy. I can still hear my mom and dad playing The Dramatics album on that gigantic stereo we had. 😁You could hear “Whatcha See is Whatcha Get” blasted all through the house. It makes me smile to see you ”feelin” our music.
I like the Dramatics 👍Try the group New Birth Wildflower
Great Song
IKR...New Birth
70s R&B soul, the best and the groups were many but they were so so good, the dramatics are right there at the top with everybody else
I could see how you feel, and you’ve got so many more to go, but thanks to technology and UA-cam it’s all here for you to experience and without the scratches and skips in the record, Crystal clear! I’m happy for you enjoy the ride!
this song is Gorgeous!
real soul harmonious and outstanding production.
Honestly young man you are bringing a tear to my eyes. You listening to this song is the same way a lot of us was but @ a younger age. My 2nd to youngest uncle on my mother side use to listen to songs like this while he was mackin on the phone for hrs. 👊🏽👊🏽
Thank you for doing this. My favorite Dramatic song.
Wish you had reacted to the Soul Train performance video... This is 1971 hit ....you reacted to their other song about 2 weeks ago called "Whatcha see is Whatcha get"..... you said you loved that song so you should remember it....that was also a 1971 hit they performed on Soul Train....btw.....stay in tune with your viewers.....songs like these are getting the most viewership and comments.....also when viewers leave you songs to react to in the comment section you should give those songs a listen to......they know what songs were the bangers back then in each decade and for the most part are giving a treasure chest of music.....LISTEN TO THEM
YOURE MUSIC SENSE IS INCREDIBLE I SUBSCRIBED.
This was husbands favorite song. Great reaction!!! Trying to catch up on your reactions.
We had so much good music back then. I look back and I'm amazed at how good we had it. The talent and passion for music was wonderful.
I feel you.
Hi guy! I'm so glad you mentioned the album cover! This was huge back in the day! You didn't just buy the record, you bought art, you got to see your favorite artists, in different poses ect. It was very exciting to purchase an album, because you never really knew what you got, until you got it home!
" watcha see is watcha get " is their best hit ❤️
Music is what kept me.going.
Nice tune, Be My Girl is really good too.
My husband and my slow drag jam from back in the day! Red light in the basement parties. Great memories!!
Album covers back then were very artistic.
Beautiful song. It used to make me cry when I was kid.
The song was about he and his woman broke up. And he was so heart broken that rather cry in front of her he wanted to go outside in the rain to disguise the fact that he is crying. Once the rain hit his face they would never seen the trace. The trace is his tears.......cry one day and then walk outside in the rain. No one but you would know you are crying.
The rain hides the tears in his eyes! Wee Gee at his best!
A certified klassic track from way back!
🌧 🌧 🌧 I ❤ this song and I love the rain too
❤💖❤ Such a beautiful song...
Oh wow another flash back: I'm like 4 or 5 yrs old, along for a drive with my parents in our 57'Chevy Bel Air, and this song is playing. Just Jammin you are tapping into some serious late 60's-early 70's Smooth Soul Jams. There are so many groups from this time period putting out songs like this. I can't wait for you to react to them. But please start with ☆Motowns best kept secret -
The Originals'~"Baby I'm for Real"(1969) and "The Bells"(1970).
By the way, it was so fun growing up during this time. 😊👍✌
you have to check out "DO WHAT YOU WANNA DO" ,by them... GORGEOUS track!
You have an idea of what these brothers are. I CANT GET OVER YOU by the Dramatics and for a treat hit DO WHAT YOU WANNA DO GIRL but when you ready thanks for the reaction 👌🏽
You've heard better rain now... that was 70's production the tools and assets were not comparable.
1000% classic soul my brother
love this group! used to slow dance with girls to this song.
i don't know how i missed this review, but BRAVO! way back when (early 70's), lil black kids were having talent shows all over the Bronx. this song was a go-to-favorite along with 'Shoe Shoe Shine' by the Dynamic Superiors and any song by Black Ivory. we sang our hearts out and had steps that woulda made the Temps proud....thanks for waking such good memories!
Bone thugs sampled this for their intro to their E.1999 Eternal album.
I love this song. Makes me think of my dad. Rest In Love, Pops
We use to do some serious slow dancing in the 50s, 60s, 70s and the love of most slow jams back then took this into consideration - this song was one of them. Also was a great song for the broken-hearted Until we found our next love (lol)
Dude, just found out about them from JACKIE BROWN the movie.
You are an old soul and I think you are hear in this body to do what you are doing. I am a fan of the rain as well and saw my first rainbow of 2021 over the Oakland hills. Hey, I was thinking that it would be great for you to put a mix together of just songs with rain. I play thunder & rain sounds of nature to get to sleep sometimes, that and the ocean.
The "D"s are my fav RB group of all time...and thats hard to say...check out Cried All The Way Home!!
Try Fall in Love, Lady Love from the same album. Sublime!
The Dramatics was often played in my household growing up. Another great group, another great song.
A good jazzy cover was done by Boney James featuring Dwele
From France
A piece of art
Watch the video on soul train, just fantastic. I grew up with these songs.
Suggest you " give your baby a standing ovation" by the Dells with one of the best intro in music.
Sorry for my English 🙏🏼🙏🏼🇫🇷🇫🇷
You were born in '98? wow just make me feel old why dont ya' LOL
Check out these jams by The Dramatics: “Hey You! Get Off My Mountain”, “I Can’t Get Over You”, “Ocean Of Thoughts and Dreams” and “Welcome Back Home”. The lead singer on this jam is William (Wee Gee) Howard, check out “Children Hold On (To Your Dreams), it was a huge hit, also check out “Key To The World”, by L.J. Reynolds.
This is a great song. The Dramatics have some hits
My favorite reaction channel. I have a request for your reaction to Brenda Holloway's WHEN IM GONE.
YES!!!
I like how the trees on that album cover sure resemble weed buds. 💭💭
Fun fact, Bone Thugs sampled this for Da Introduction off of E 1999 Eternal
Another fun fact, wu tang sampled that rain part in Bring Da Ruckus
They did a song with Snoop Dogg in 02' called Ballin'.
Yes you are an old soul!
my Jam,stanx for the reaction JJ!
She left him; he's in the house crying, in the rain he can cry and nobody knows it's tears... so now he can get out the house.
Wow! I forgot about this one! The shame I feel right now🤦🏾♂️
Bro, you would have fit right in with us (now old folks)!
I recommend listening to the group Solo. - (Xxtra is the song)
Keith Sweat did a cover of this song on his 1987 debut album "Make It Last Forever"!
Ghostface killah made a rap over this entire song
Since you did this and "Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get" by The Dramatics you owe it to yourself to also do "Thankful For Your Love", "Me and Mrs. Jones" and either "I'm Going By The Stars In Your Eyes", "You're Foolin' You" or "Be My Girl." The Impressions, The Dramatics, The Chi-Lites and The O'Jays were the main competitors with The Temptations.
There are two fantastic covers of this song: One by Keith Sweat on his debut album and one by Xscape for the Love Jones soundtrack. Both are terrific and distinctly interesting compared to the original, which is a masterpiece
JJ- Please check out, _"I Can't Get Over You",_ by this group. Real sangin'.
Bro you would have fit right in with us back in the day!
Being That You feeling this, You Must check out BLUE MAGIC’s “WHAT COME OVER ME” and “ STOP TO START” . Classic 70’s DOO WOP JOINTS
You got to hear Treat me like a man
You hav to hear the Devil is Dope or Beware of The Man wit The Candy in his Hand by The Dramatics
Great song, great era. You should try Together by the Intruders, awesome song.
Play ocean in thoughts in dreams by the dramatics
You should check out Thee Sacred Souls - Weak for your love 👌🏼
You should check out Keith Sweat’s version of this song from the 90’s.
Do, ain't no big thing by the radiants
🌧 ☔️🌧☔️🌧☔️🌧🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️
So he hasn't done the Keith Sweat cover yet. Cause usually he's spot on with the covers and samples.
Excellent 👍👍👍
Play the dramatics version of me and Mrs Jones
Their version of be my girl
leave this alone you are not ready
Payback is a dog sir give that a listen
Bootsy Collins munchies for your love check it out it's worth it
Guys from Detroit. Hot Pants.
You should react to the Keith Sweat version. Might be better.
when i was in my teens we used to slow dance to this song with girls in a basement. they came cause we had supplements.not healthy ones
