Adjusting the tracks with grease been around a long time. I started out on 1977ish JD350 crawler dozers and that's how you adjusted the chains/tracks on those. The only difference was the grease fitting, they were button style fittings. Also each roller had a fitting too.

Thank you sir for showing wiping off the excess grease after greasing. That is very important as excess grease captures dirt and dirt around joints and zerks is never going to end well. 🙂
Yes grease is messy but maintaining a tractor is clean job, said no one ever. 😁

For the stuck zerc you can use a slight tap on the little sealing ball to un-stick it, or you can use a bit of heat. If that fails just replace it. Also I use a locking grease gun tip to get more pressure.
To help make sure I locate each zerc I put contrasting colored caps on them to make them easy to find. Cheers!

Is for any of my track machines when I clean them I use a post hold is the post hole digger shovel the long skinny shovel about 2' long and about 8" wide maybe 10 the most and it's kind of beveled and and it gives you the ability to reach up in there and get that mud out of that track system . It's a lot easier than using a crowbar just saying

Lube-Shuttle is the best. Much easier to work with, change tubes, and see grease level. Add the LockNLube tip (either long or short). Their add-on right angle attachment works for tight spaces.

I just got my Lube Shuttle. I like it so far. I ordered it with P100 poly urea because that’s what John Deere calls for. I noticed that the color was tan and not dark grey like the JD brand. I assume that they don’t care as long as there is grease showing around the joint.

With the post/tree grapple they can remove some fairly large trees - more so if after grabbing on to the tree/post you lift slightly and moving forward/backward rather than just brute force lift straight up - at least that's been my experience using a Danuser Intimidator on my Kubota L3560. While the Intimidator is a bit heavy (eats up 700lbs out of the 1500lb lift capacity), but I can still pull out most of what I'd want to pull out with it. Just need to remember that tall trees can make decent sails even on "calm" days -- that being the case I usually pull out and drop the tree and then do clean up of multiple trees/bushes/etc. with a horizontal-type grapple (where it's easier to grab multiple trees in a single trip)

Love that Lube Shuttle electric, but it would sting the budget at $200, and it's twice that. Maybe if I win the lotto, but till then, I'll just go "vroom-vroom" when I pump my $30 HF grease gun..... FEL/tractor/implements needs greasing only once in a while, and most of those fittings are in easy to access, it's vehicle frontends where the electric shines. I did add a Macnaught coupler which helps, but won't fit in some places. As far as priming goes, good modern hand pump guns work quite well including "change and go, and any grease gun will take a minute to get going again if you run it empty. If I change grease, I always hit the bearing buddys on the trailers when I have to empty the old cartridge grease, you can usually finish out the old tube doing that, and wheel bearings aren't pick on flavor, as long as they have grease (sans H20), they seem to last and last.
I have a B7800 w/pinned 60" bucket, and really like the looks of the "Add-A-Grapple" - been saying to myself - Why doesn't anybody make a thumb for an FEL? - Now they do. Looks well made, with a tie rod cylinder even.
Just bought a lottery ticket, maybe a lube shuttle is in my future... An add-a-grapple too.
PS Nothing on your site yet on the add-a grapple. I'll keep watching for when you get it added.

The grease fitting on the skid-steer probably wouldn't take grease because you had down pressure on the bucket and it blocked off the grease hole in the pin. Put the bucket into the float position and it should take grease. If not the fitting may be plugged.

Those powered greasers are great, just DON'T use them on anything with a seal, like EZ Lube axles, or bearing hubs like on mower decks and such. They can and do blow the seals out. They work great of bushings though, especially those that are tight.

    • @SummertymeJamz

Kinda depending on the use and hours. I personally grease my mower every 3rd cut - smaller yard. FEL - a couple of pumps before before I begin my work and then I check the joints at the d end of the day. I might do a single pump then move it a around a bit before parking it.

@@SummertymeJamz I don’t use it for mowing, well that’s a lie, I have a hog but use it for 1/2 hour to an hour twice a year. I primarily use it right now with a grappler for retrieving logs for firewood

@@cidine1950 my advice still applies - a few pumps at the beginning and one at the end. Just enough to see the grease come out of the joints. If you happen to be doing work in sand, you may need to apply during your work.

The manual will tell you. For example the manual for my tractor advises to grease loader fittings after 10 hours of use. That is 10 hours of loader use, not tractor use. However the dealer said to grease loader fittings a bit more often, especially the fittings around the bucket as they are moving a lot more.

I would think if you had a good camera crew they would have had everything cleaned up ready to grease. Rather than wasting the stars time cleaning equipment
