wwe needs to stop treating hell in a cell like a sport and treat it like the ultimate death pit

So they shouldn't use the Cell. It's easy.
There's a middle ground here. Use the cell (watered down if that's what they have to do), just have it be a super rare match. Scrap the HIAC gimmick PPV, bring back Breaking Point with a Last Man Standing theme rather than the submission based one the original had, and only book a HIAC match every 2 or 3 years. Overexposure has killed the magic of HIAC far more than the no blood rule.
They have undersold it in previous years giving themselves a problem, tbf if the women go hard wrestling could go mainstream again but some ego"s would have to take a back seat!
HIAC IS ON PPV they're not PG by any standards

One of my favorite hell in a cell match is the 6 Man hell in a cell match with The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Kurt Angel, Triple H, and Rikishi.

I think the only great Hell in the Cell matches in the last few years are Ambrose-Rollins, Taker-HHH and Taker-Lesnar. There have been a few good ones like Reigns-Wyatt and Bryan-Orton, but only three great ones in my opinion.

Dyllon Freeman Well that was about the same time that HIAC became a gimmick PPV so it makes sense. I think even in the PG era Hell in a Cell could still be significant if used properly (a la HHH vs Undertake at WM 28) but booking has run this concept into the ground to the point where the cell serves virtually no purpose in the match.

I don't think blood loss is a determining factor for a good HIAC match. Sure it fits the theme of a "fight-to-the-death hell spawn grudge-ending" theme but I just don't think that's mandatory. But I wouldn't mind if it pops up.
If it's not a blood feud, HiaC shouldn't even be a match stipulation for the combatants. It's built as a demonic structure, not a "go have a great match in this very sporty cage".

If WWE would drop the hell in a cell ppv that'd be great, hell in a cell matches are supposed to be special and awesome, with the hell in a cell ppv concept that hasn't exactly been the case. Some matches were good, others not so much.

The HIAC match with Taker and Austin vs. Mankind and Kane shouldn't be on this list whatsoever. Undertaker didn't show up because there was friction between he and Austin on the Highway to Hell, Summerslam 98 and people were wondering if Kane and Undertaker were in collusions. It was great storytelling.

The Taker/Shane match was great and should have headlined the show. What more were you guys expecting from a 51 year old and a 45 year old non wrestler? The match was pure entertainment and spectacle. Plus, there were "this is awesome" chants throughout.

Hell in a Cell isn't what it used to be. But when Hell in a Cell is used in a dark match, you know you fucked up.
Taker vs. Shane was better than Sasha vs Charlotte, and Cena vs. Randy. It was all based around a couple of big spots (one in particular), but I remember being so tense about it, that it made the whole match feel great at the time.

The last time the Cell was used properly for a proper send off to a long time feud was Edge vs Undertaker in Summerslam 2008. They had been feuding from Wrestlemania-Summerslam! Taker-Brock and Taker-HHH had the intensity to justify being in a Cell along with Ambrose-Rollins but Edge-Taker was a legitimate slow burn feud that ended in the Cell.

I love how 8 out of 10 of those Hell in a Cell matches were from the PG era. Sums it all up really. Even when somebody gets busted open the hard way (*cough*Brock Lesnar*cough*) they still have to bring in the doctors (and ruin the momentum of the match), you know... in a stipulation that has a history of bloody matches...

Stanley this matches has happened like 100x its easy to forget when it first happened and sheamus vs Cesaro even before the feud it would be a match I wouldn't fuck with.

Sheamus was on a roll when Randy beat him in a 6-pack challenge, the championship was on the line in a HIAC match, there was a great buildup. I'd watch another Cena vs Orton match if it has a good story behind it,
I agree, I liked that match, also thanks for pointing out the finish, I too think that it was pretty good. Back then Sheamus was projected as a big deal, Orton was having the run of his life and I was 9 years old(bought into the Orton gimmick like anything)!!! But even back then the Irish-curse back breaker was one of the most stupid things I had ever seen even.

The first Ryback Punk cell match needs to be higher. That match was horrendous and only served to find a way to end Rybacks streak and have someone fill in for Cena
