    I am in awe of the Red Arrows. There is no display team anywhere in the world that comes close to them. They are pure perfection.

      All three of these military demo teams are top-notch, but in terms of popularity, I would rate them in the following order:
      1. USN Blue Angels
      2. USAF Thunderbirds
      3. RAF Red Arrows
      I've seen all three teams perform many times over the years, beginning as a kid in 1969.

    Facts are that each country's display teams use different craft to suit their display style... the Arrows require highly manuverable but slow jets, the Angels need faster more powerful craft... you couldn't expect the Arrows to do their display using the Angels jets! They are ALL amazing pilots, no matter which country they hail from

      Well that is where you are wrong. Most of the current display was actually made up of maneuvers that were created when the Blues flew the A-4 Skyhawk, which is nowhere near as powerful as the F/A-18. Even the Thunderbirds display are maneuvers from the days they flew the T-38 Talon. So I would suspect that if the Arrows were ever given a set of Typhoons, they would not only embrace them but they would take what they do now, refine it for the higher speeds and still make a unique show. Even the Frecce di Tricolori is impressive in their MB-339s.

      Sadly, the Red Arrows crews and ground crews are now required to do robotic drill movements on the ground as well.
      They used to be so British and laid-back about the unimportant things.

    Like yankeethunder1 says, vive la difference! The Red Arrows are showmen in training aircraft with tradition of entertaining the crowd and do everything where the crowd can see them. The Thunderbirds, whose pilots show tremendous class here, are powerhouses in extreme fighter aircraft. The mutual respect is what's impressive here.

    I can bet the Red Arrows went for drinks with the Canadians afterwards. Now, some Yanks might say "Yeah, the two loser teams going for consolation beers" , but I think its because there might be more intelligent conversation . You get Americans involved & it always revolves around them - and the Canadians & Brits just look at them , & then look at each other knowingly. The fact that the Canadians invited the Red Arrows to fly the evening display just confirms this

    I was in the RAF for 22 years, Aircraft Maintenance, and we always treated the Red Arrows groundcrew as right wankers. They thought they were the best but actually, they knew jack compared to the real workers. This vid makes my skin crawl when the groundcrew open their mouths

      I remember the time the Thunderbirds took all four planes into a loop, and all four hit the ground, making a diamond of four black smoking craters.
      A horrible day, and one that fortunately led to improvements and it has never happened again.

    Sure, the Leagacy Hornet I agree, But I'm talking about the F/A 18 E-F modles. As a matter of fact there working on either a GE 505 or P.W F series that would put out 26K lbs of thurst each,
    As a matter of fact I would put a Super Hornet over an F-15 C/D any day.

    • @stevetheduck1425
      @stevetheduck1425 2 роки тому

      The Aero L-39 Albatros is unfortunately severely limited in its safe manouvreability due to the small, straight wing and lack of high-lift devices or modern controls.
      It's damned good-looking, and looks like it's doing Mach 1 standing still, and looks very good in a James Bond film, standing in for more expensive planes, but... you know, late 1950s design, Soviet bloc, advanced and weapons trainer, light attack secondary role, twenty years older than even the Hawk...

    Arrows don’t do much of any solo demonstrations. To many shapes they do. That’s their downfall for me. Snowbirds to slow and not loud enough but I put them ahead of the arrows because they do a good solo demonstrations and way more than the arrows. Blues and Tbirds rock you 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

    The comments here are hysterical. The RAF couldn't hold the jock straps of the Blue Angels or Thunderbirds. To say our aviation capabilities are superior, including our demo teams is the understatement of the last century. Superior aircraft, superior support crew, superior training, superior discipline. The British have their areas of superiority that are impressive. Aviation is not one if those areas. It's okay, red coats, you don't have to get your knickers in a twist because the big bad Americans are better than you at something. Be loyal, support your nation, but be realistic.

    • @gunggerdin1
      @gunggerdin1 9 років тому +3

      You have obviously not heard or read what the Blue Angels or the Thunderbirds have to say about the Red Arrows. the Red Arrows came out best I am afraid. Deal with it, small fry.

    • @jasonlooney2241
      @jasonlooney2241 9 років тому

      gunggerdin1 Small fry - that's cute. The Red Arrows are outstanding and it's great that they came out on top. As for the comments by the American teams, that's what we refer to as "class". As stated in my post on one of the other videos, precision is defined differently between sub-sonic and super sonic aircraft - Mach .8 versus Mach 1.8. When you're not even flying at the speed of sound, being precise isn't quite as challenging. It's not their fault, they're using a training aircraft. I don't even know what the RAF uses for combat -

      +Aquarian Dreamster thank you for the information. I realize it's difficult admitting that the other guys equipment is superior and that his skill set likely is, as well. Not taking anything from the Arrow pilots, they're impressive, no doubt. The U. S. has a ridiculous defense budget to ensure military superiority. I'm sure the aircraft you mention are fine aircraft but not comparable to the F/A 18. The aircraft the Arrows use In the video is a trainer, like our T38 (F-5) or T-45. The 10, 15, & 16 are Air Force and I'm not as familiar but the 10 isn't an air to air combat plane anyway. The 18 is probably the most advanced aircraft in the world (skill set of the pilot included), aside from the Raptor. That gives its pilots a set of skills other pilots don't have. Not saying they're not capable, just at a disadvantage
