Tarantino actually wrote the novelization of this movie himself. Like most movie novelizations it goes into a bit more detail about certain things, and he also goes past the ending of the movie to talk about what happened to Cliff and Rick. Spoilers for the book: One of the scenes he talks about in more detail in the book is what happened on the boat with Cliff and his wife. She didn't pass away right away, and he did try to save her, but wasn't able to. She ultimately forgave Cliff for what happened before she died. After the story broke about what happened the night of the attack and Rick killing one of the hippies with his flamethrower it did spark a bit of career resurgence for Rick. Rick and Cliff would go on to write and produce a series of movies about a vigilante who would kill criminals with his flamethrower, which Rick would also star in.
@@Ghbejdhaj8-71 1 of the gang were in the movie innocent (in real life of course she is guilty). She gets killed in a very brutal way in the movie. i disliked that.
What's amazing is that Quentin Tarantino has written an entire book called 'The Films of Rick Dalton' which goes through every movie and TV show he ever 'appeared' in. It seems like that is what he intends to do after he retired from directing. He wants to write books. He already has two out.
There were unsolved murders that he was believed to have committed or instigated and he was at the LaBianca house. The murders wouldn't have happened without his instigation. When he was in prison for minor offenses in his pre-helter skelter days, he sought out the pimps who were serving time and asked for their advice on bullying and intimidating girls to get them under his thumb. He was planning all kinds of things for a very long time. Notoriety was his end goal and unfortunately, he probably died a happy man.
I chose ya'll because I didn't want to watch some young people who had no knowledge or perspective on the Manson cult and this 66-year-old was not disappointed. Thanks for the company.
Just to clarify, Charles Manson was not there the night of the Sharon Tate murders, but he was there at the Labianca murders (which was the very next night I believe)!
Trivia time: the rick Dalton house and the Tate house in the film were not the real homes. Those houses are in Sherman Oaks CA, just over the hill in the San Fernando Valley. However, the street they show the cars driving down and turning off of is the real Cielo Drive where the murders took place. Side note, the sunglasses that Brad Pitt wears on the airplane coming back from Italy were supplied to the production by a friend of mine who specializes in vintage clothing and accessories. He sold them 4 sets of glasses. They gave him back two pair they didn't use and my friend gave a pair to me. I adore this film. I've seen it more than 50 times.
Every boomer I watch this with loves the aesthetics, scpript and pace, but as soon as it clicks... "wait is that Sharon Tate? NONONONONONOooooo, I don't wanna watch this" I have to say, just keep watching, just keep watching.
"it's (LSD) hitting him he won't be able to fight back" Well, Carlos Santana at Woodstock begs to differ, and playing intricate music is far more difficult than the coarse movements of hand to hand combat.
Мне нравится реакция бабушки на финальную сцену расправы, такая невозмутимая по сравнению с более молодыми зрительницами. Она определенно видела некоторое дерьмо в жизни, что ее этим не удивить😂
The girl in the Manson quartet who takes the car is Uma Thurman's daughter, Maya. I know QT and Uma had a massive falling out during KILL BILL and didn't talk for many years. I think they've patched things up, though.
Ordering others to commit murder is both murder and conspiracy to commit murder. As far as the law is concerned, Manson murdered Tate and the others. Manson also had a motive. The murders weren’t random. Manson was a white supremacist who was trying to incite a race war. “Helter Skelter”.
I'm so happy you guys watched this! I was hoping you would notice that Mikey Madison (the crazy Manson girl) from Scream was also in this and pick up on the similarities between the characters being psychos that are set on fire.
I'm guessing the fear of God would have been put into all of them when they watched the news and the girls would have started drifting away. The young girl known as Pussycat actually made it out alive and was eventually restored to her senses.

Didn’t like the portrayal of Bruce Lee in this. It’s one thing in playing a fictional character, one thing if it’s a real character, and yet another thing portraying a real person in a false light, which this is, according to Lee’s family and friends. All Tarantino had to do was show that it was what Pitt’s character THOUGHT happened, much like DiCaprio’s character did. Problem solved. Bruce Lee was supposed to have been at the mansion that fateful night of the murders. Including THAT would’ve been an ending!
The depiction of Bruce Lee was so disrespectful it left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth. Imagine this was Mohammed Ali and he was ridiculed like a caricature like this. The backlash would be astronomical
Bruce Lee was known to treat his fellow stunt people really badly often really hitting them, Cliff being a stuntman is another of Tarentino’s fantasy revenge plots in the movie.

Fun fact, you can only scream once while being roasted alive in flames because after the first second there's no air to scream with 😊
I actually didn’t know that. You’ve ruined movies for me. I’m gonna go cry now
They wanted to depict those really cheesy westerns where someone gets shot and they just start running around screaming 😭
True fact, I've seen many videos of African mob justice burnings, they are silent
I wouldn’t consider that a fun fact lol
You can say that again! Ah, the good old days.

Aka conspiracy to commit murder, basically the same as doing it yourself.

MY FAVORITE QUENTIN TARANTINO MOVIE IT'S :
- Resevoir Dogs ( 1992 ) = 10/10👍
- Kill Bill Vol.1-2 ( 2003-2004 ) = 10/10👍
- Inglorious Basterds ( 2009 ) = 10/10👍
- Django Unchained ( 2012 ) = 10/10👍
- Once Upon A Time In Hollywood ( 2019 ) = 10/10👍
