I think dp pens, especially larger multiplacers, push round drills closer together than the grid on round canvas. The larger number multiplacer you use, the more the extremely tiny space between round drills adds up and becomes more noticiable. Just my guess anyway😊
I agree with your hypothesis. I've actually measured (ok, I'm a nerd) and you're right.. when using a multiplacer, the space between the drills are smaller to non-existent.. so when you get up into the larger multiplaced numbers... that smaller or non-existent gap between each drill shows up exponentially and that is why they don't quite line up perfectly.
I have the same issue Katie. I can’t figure it out either! I have to scoot like the last 2 or 3 over when I multiplace using my 8 placer but when I do the drills fit perfectly together with no gaps! Very strange! LOL! 😂😂💕💕Beautiful finish!!
I have found that more than 6 drills won’t quite line up with round drills. I just attributed it to still being a newbie to dp, but it sounds like like its not just me. Loved this happy kit🥰
Hi Katie, Adorable completion. Brings back wonderful memories of a boyfriend in the late 80s getting Panda Bears out of these machines. This might go in my wish list.😊😊😊😊❤❤
I have found the same thing with multiplacing rounds with DAC kits. It seems to improve when I use the plastic multiplacers rather than the thin metal ones. Due to the tight grid of the squares, the thin metal multiplacers allow for the really tight spacing of squares. But the plastic ones start to get the indents from pressing over time, which helps to space out my rounds properly. It could also be because I prefer to place in the 6-9 diamond range rather than the 10-12, but it’s maybe something to consider when working on rounds. ❤
I have this one in my stash.. and I think it's priority level just went up after watching your review... hmm.. now I'm going to have to figure out what kit NOT to do in August.. (I plan a few months ahead).. LOL. Static can be such a bummer... but I'm working on a kit w/ acrylic drills which are "ok", but I just feel the resin is shinier and sparklier... so as much of hassle that static can be, the end result is generally worth it to me 🙂 Thanks for another great video!
I love this painting and am so sad that they don't have it in stock right now. I have put my name on the email list for this and several others. So far I haven't received any notifications. Some day I hope that I can multiplace as well as you do. Your work always turns out so beautiful. ❤
I just finished this one too and love it so much. I had the same problem on it with my 12 drill multiplacer. I also had this same problem doing a smaller DAC round drill Snoopy kit. I do think that the drill field could be tightened up just a tiny bit to fix this. It's definitely annoying to have to go back and spread the drills out a bit more.
I've noticed the multiplacing issue personally with my DAC placer. I just have the 3 placer and I always have troubles placing drills neatly. But the 7 placer plastic tip? No problem. I'm sure my problem is mostly skill though. Lol
I hope that they restock it! I had my e-mail down for notifications but didn’t buy fast enough after they re-stocked. It was sold out again within 48hrs. 😭 I can’t sign up for the alert again, but hoping there is enough interest for them to do another restock! 🤞
I'm glad you mentioned the multi-placing problem. For me, multi-placing more than 6 is really frustrating for that exact reason. I'd be curious to hear if you're having the same experience with different "brands" of multi-placers or with canvases from other companies, just as an analysis experiment. So far I've only worked on DAC kits, so I can't say if it's across the he board. My inclination has been to assume I'm just bad at high number placement and need more practice. While that's definitely still true, it's encouraging to hear that it's not *just* me experiencing poor spacing. This kit is adorable and I'm so glad it brought you joy! It might make my wishlist. But for a bit here I'm looking to do less color-blocking heavy kits because well, see above 😂.
Having the same exact issue with a DAC round kit while using a DAC 10-multiplacer. I’ve decided for that reason I can’t do rounds anymore but I’m staring at my WIP and LOVE how sparkly it is…it’s a love hate relationship but it annoys me that I can’t multiplace more than 5 at a time unless I wanna keep fixing the last few drills.
I have found a way to fix the round drills getting closer together with a multiplacer problem! If you place the first few I have found that you can kind of stretch out before putting the other end of the placer down. I hope I am describing it ok but just kind of take your hand and stretch the placer across the canvas before putting the other end down
I have to agree the rounds are not as good as they used to be in terms of spacing. I’m working on an old kit and it’s perfect but newer round kits it seems maybe the new in house diamonds are smaller and that’s why, I did bring it up to them last year and they said it was a me problem but you are not the only person I’ve heard notice this too. I do hope they look into now that you’ve said something. Because it does prevent me from buying more rounds
I don’t think it’s a gird spacing issue when multi placing with a bigger multi placer. The bigger object the more unwieldy it can become. My drills look great with an 8 or 10 placer. When I use 12 placer the last 3 or 4 are crooked.
It’s not your multi-placing, I think they should change it, I left a review of the only round I’ve done from them called just breath, you can actually fit 3 whole drills more inside the extra space left inside a section of 19.
The red highlights in her hair are amazing!
I just finished this one and loved every minute of it. Watching those adorable animals coming to life was really fun.

@@julieserres9713 sounds like us math nerds think alike lol

🐞 the special drills that were really remarkable took this painting over the top!!!!
Omg! Your washi tape on the canvas! 🤩😍🤩😍 so pretty!

I like it. I have noticed that in spots in the few round ones I have done. I just fixed the areas.
The finish is too cute! Glad you were able to get alot of enjoyment out of it. Hope you have a great week!😀
That is adorable! How do you keep your rows so straight?
I love your finish🩷 she’s a cute one for sure. The band on the hat was perfectly done with the ABs and fairy dust
Hi Katie,

Love this kit, especially all the colors.
I always think DP does amazing hair. I always want those highlights😜
I have this one and after seeing yours completed I want to start it right now! I need to finish a few others I'm in the middle of first though! 😂
I use a 12 multiplacer and I've never had an issue placing the round drills evenly. Always been fine for me
I have the same issue with rounds and settled on only using a 7 placed to combat it!

So pretty!
I picked this one up, she is just too cute. I have the same issues with the round drills.

I also have the spacing issue when I multi place rounds on DAC kits. Not a problem with squares
Such a cute canvas..love the purples and pinks...the animals are so cute ..
So ..only resin drills get static??
Tfs

I got it on a very limited restock!

2 excuse me, if they change it I could see myself purchasing both round and square kits, right now I’m sticking to square from them
