Poor Clara Bow, I always heard her career was over when talking pictures came out around 1929. Apparently. She couldn't get rid of that Brooklyn accent!
I heard that too!
I believe singin in the rain character Lina Lamont is based off the Clara bow 😂
Hey the Brooklyn accent is famous now. Look at Margot Robbie playing Harley Quinn 😊😊
That's a shame. I love people's accents!!
@@Trisherboops and Babylon she was great in that and she definitely kicked that accent up a notch❤
I just don't see the Hadids or Kardashians as IT girls.
Nor do I.
Me neither but other people do
I agree
So many people wanted their look and they sold out clothes.
A better role model would be Princess Catherine. A classic.
@@nancysmyth-gray1698Indeed!
🎄☃️🔔⛪🎅🏻Merry Christmas dear🙏🏻🌟🕯️‼️
It makes me sad that a lot of these IT girls had such hard lives.
What an interesting topic! I would have argued to include Kate Moss because whether you love or hate her, she was the It Girl of the 90s and beyond.
Just a small correction, Jean Harlow's third husband was MGM cinematographer Harold Rosson. Paul Bern was her second. She was very much in love with actor William Powell & they were together until her death.
I love this! Pretty sure that fourth picture isn’t Edie tho, just someone paying homage to her 😂
Merry Christmas and thanks for the amazing videos this year
I love your channel for many years ❤ keep up the great work ⭐️
Vintage! I love this channel already!😍
Loved this video! ❤
Thank you for your thorough and original presentations, I always look forward to your videos. Maybe all the mystery is history, so to speak. An It Girl is just as fluxous as history and will progress and regress based on the moment in time they inhabit. To reflect the perspective, mood and aesthetic of an ever-changing world is fleeting and ultimately, the substance of who they are determines their place in our minds--and hearts.
Glad you like them!
Factory Girl is one of my favorite movies ever
Let's face it. It girls went away when the entertainment industry scraped the bottom of the barrel and forced Kim K down our throats.
The “it” girl becomes the “sh*t” girl when she gets older, and then society moves on to the next “it” girl. I think it’s boredom, honestly.
Ya that’s true
They probably realized celebrity is over-hyped and wanted a normal life.❤
One of my favorite subjects ❤
Thanks for watching
Would you consider Twiggy an it girl or maybe she falls into another category, anyway she seemed to come out of it alright.
Fun fact Marianne was sex symbol but in reality she didnt like sex at all
Kim Kardashian look like she hit the wall 10 years ago 😆😆😆
I think Kourtney the oldest sister looks better than her now!
