    I love how there's not a lot of hate or negativity in the comments. It's just girls helping out girls and that makes me so happy. On another note, she's so perfect??? Like dude. Her lips are really pretty and her hair looks so healthy and shiny!

    One of the things that I have figured out over the years is wearing darker underwear when you are on your period. Wearing black or a dark blue is best since those colors don't really stain so less ruined panties.

    If you experience razor bumps & in grown hairs try using Coconut oil as your "shaving cream". Literally I will never go back to using conditioner or shaving cream after using coconut oil!
    It leaves your skin SOOOOOO freaking soft & being somebody who has extremely sensitive skin I haven't experienced in grown hairs or razor bumps since! 🙌🏾

    Ugh does anyone else just sort of die inside when you hear someone say "Just wash your face, your acne will go away" Like, no! That's not how it works!

      I started using sea salt on my face. I mix 4 tables spoons of aloe Vera gel and 1 table spoon of pure sea salt and a teaspoon of honey and use it as a mask and let it dry and keep it on for 15 mins and rinse it off with cold water and moisturize

    • @tsunamimusic1460
      @tsunamimusic1460 8 років тому +28

      I also make green tea and put pure sea salt in it instead of sugar and use it as an astringent and let it dry and rinse it off with cold water and moisturize with coconut oil. both of those do wonders for acne. And it also lightens dark spots. several times a day people ask em if im wearing foundation when I wouldn't be wearing any makeup at all

      My holy grail has been the organik botanik brand charcoal face mask. I'm not sure if other charcoal products help as much or if it's just that specific product but- GIRL. I used to break out all over my face constantly and could never really, fully clear it up until I bought the face mask. Theres a ton of product in the little pot that it comes in too, I still havent finished my first one and I bought it at least 5 months ago. But I can tell that it made a world of difference because literally the day after I used it the first time, my acne started to clear up. Keep in mind I only use it like once a week. Ever since I started using it, my skin has rarely ever broken out. And I know it isn't like my water intake or some other products (because I love sweet tea too much and haven't switched up any products since using the mask). I can tell that it's helped my skin, too, because whenever I miss a week, my skin goes back to being dull and I'll get small patches of acne in spots. Basically, it's amazing lol you should try it

    Another tip is DRINK WATER WATER WATER. For your hair, skin, nails, lady bits if you experience odor. Water neutralizes your body and maintains a healthy Ph. If you enjoy soda, juice, etc. Make sure you really balance your water intake to make up for that. For instance, if I drink 8 oz of soda, try to drink 16 oz of water. This way you motivate yourself to drink water and don’t flood your system with sugary drinks!

    • @christinekirkland3082

      Lia W see that's why I'm glad I hate soda, it's not any good for you at all. also I really like water and always have cause when i was a baby (still usually drinking milk) one time me and my family were in Savannah (so it was really hot basically) and our car broke down so my parents didn't want me drinking milk In that kind of heat so they gave me water and now to this day I love water so much my sister calls me a water baby XD

    *UPDATE*: Always do your own research!!
    1) *Regarding vaginal wash*: I have used mild soaps and I have also used Summer's Eve. I've had ZERO issues using Summer's Eve and that is just what I personally use. Never apply soaps INSIDE your body.
    2) *Regarding pantyliners*: NO, do not wear them everyday, every second, every hour. If you need to wear one for protection during a certain time during the day, that's fine. Just make sure you keep it dry and take it off at a certain point.

I did what my mom told me which was tell her than she would tell me what to do then she let me go do it by myself but she texted me instructions because she knows that its weird if she’s their helping me but every girl can relate and it isn’t something that wasn’t expected because it’s a natural thing girls go through and my mom gets me dark chocolate cause it’s just a craving that a lot of people have and you should use a heating pad or exercise because that helps you if you have cramps and lastly your period stops when your on water so you shouldn’t worry about going in the water:)

    two tips:
    1. if you feel like you constantly need to reapply your deodorant then change your deodorant brand. it is possible for your body to build up a kind of tolerance (?) to a brand and so the brand stops working for you. I usually rotate between 2 brands and switch them out every couple of months
    2. if you have super frizzy hair that is hard to control / style then try drying your hair with a tee shirt instead of a towel. I don't know why, but it works for me to help keep my hair under control

    I was told by my gyno not to use soaps wipes or sprays with a scent. It'll throw your ph off no matter what they say and will cause infections! Baby soap and baby wipes are your best bet!

  • @butterflyforeve
    @butterflyforeve 8 років тому +397

    dove soap is the best soap to use to clean everywhere. it's the best for babies as well. it's the only soap that has the least amount of chemicals. you don't need to use anything to balance your PH drink lots of water that's it

    • @butterflyforeve
      @butterflyforeve 8 років тому +18

      Yes that goes without saying, never put anything in the vagina except tampons, penis, or a toy lol. Yes cleaning the outer folds can be done with just water, but you can also use dove soap it's actually a good thing to use dove to clean the area closer to the urinary track opening. Bacteria lives on our skin and it's normal unless it's pushed up into the urinary tract opening which can happen during sexual activity. Always use the bathroom before and after sexual activities to push anything that may have gotten in there. You don't have to use dove but I prefer to it makes me feel weird if I don't use soap on my body everywhere, so all I am saying is if you are like me and need soap to feel like you are cleaner dove is the best option. Use the original dove or the unscented one. Never use the body wash or the other dove bars. And if you have a baby with eczema or sensitive skin dove is the best option there as well. I only ever used baby wash for my first baby which broke him out after doc told me dove was the purest soap and to use it, that's all I ever used for the rest of my kiddos. Gyn also told me the same thing about dove for the outside area of the vagina.

If you are worried that people are going to hear it, if you are in the women's bathroom, the girls should understand and if they don't then they clearly don't understand the STRUGGLE of periods. And the fact that its 10× worse at school.😊😁

    Shaving with coconut oil, baby oil or baby shampoo is also SOOOO good. Legs, armpits, wherever. It makes your skin so soft, protects your skin more and gives a closer shave. I always get razor burn everywhere no matter what, but it's much much less with this oil stuff. If you are extremely prone to razorburn TRY THIS!

    • @Alarycia
      @Alarycia 8 років тому

      I just use the oil alone. The oil itself is always solid but it melts right in your hands. It's also great for your hair.

      My bumps were so extreme and actually sore from shaving before I used oil to shave. I've never ever had an ingrown hair, I just get an extreme amount of razor burn and irritation. I've found that coconut oil actually works better for legs, baby oil or coconut oil are fine for down there. But for some reason the baby oil irritates my legs less than shaving cream, but the coconut oil irritates it much less than both.

  • @msMuffet.

    Okay, I just wanna say some things:
    1) I used to dry shave my legs everyday, and I had such razor burn! (And since scented lotion makes razor burn sting, and all I had was scented lotion, I wouldn’t moisturize😭) PLEASE DON’T DRY SHAVE!
    2) I don’t have a very sweaty face, and don’t wear makeup (except blush sometimes), and so barely ever wash my face. Nothing’s really wrong with it lol
    3) It isn’t necessary to wash your lady bits with soap, it’s recommended you wash it with plain warm water. (I just gently wipe around back and front with a clean wash cloth.)
    Also, when you’re on your period, make sure to wash the *front* first, so that the water isn’t washing blood towards the front.
    4) If you wear tight underwear (thong,etc) often, you shouldn’t wear underwear at night, but you can also do something else if you don’t like that idea.
    Wear 100% (or as high a percentage as you can get) cotton underwear at night, or some days of the week to give your flower some time to breath!
    (I wear 95% cotton all the time)
    5) Back to shaving again.
    I have never used shaving cream or exfoliated before. I’ve always just washed my legs, rinsed them off, lathered up with soap, shaved, and then moistured.
    I’ve only ever had one ingrown hair (exteriorly ingrown if you know what I mean lol), and don’t usually experience irritation. Though I do only have mildly sensitive skin.
    That all being said, it isn’t recommended you use conditioner, shampoo, body wash, or lotion to shave anywhere. It can clog up the razor leading to cuts, irritation, and not as close a shave. It also dulls your razor faster.
    But still, just saying, you don’t have to waste money on shaving cream if soap works for you.

    here's a tip: i absolutely love love love using johnsons baby lotion instead of any other lotion!😂 it helps so much better if you have like dry skin or ruff skin or even if you moisturize. it leaves your skin with a nice smooth silky soft result and trust me once you start using it I doubt you'll use something different! Just a simple tip/suggestion 💓

    NEVER douche. So many women do that without realizing that it messes up your body’s natural pH down there. I’m guilty of that - I’ve done it (once) before knowing what it does.

      I literally sleep naked every night. I get that some people can't because they share a house with family or friends, or even are in a dorm. But it's only me and my partner so it's no problem, and it gives my body the necessary airing out it needs :)

    • @mikaylad7176
      @mikaylad7176 8 років тому +15

      The dribbling is called discharge! It changes depending on what day of your cycle you're on, and I agree! Airing out is good I'm sure, but it's best to sleep wearing thin cotton underwear, so you don't dirty up your sheets. I wear my cute lacy underwear throughout the day and I always change into some Hanes bikini cotton underwear before I go to sleep!

    I use Dove Sensitive skin bar of soap and love it I recommend. I wash my face twice a day and use curology (healed my acne). I’m switching from tampons to a cup or just pads. Use a skin exfoliant.. (I have a dove once as well got it at wal mart) it has helped my leg hair from growing back as quickly too. I recommend sleeping without underwear.

    ALSO....they only thing I would say about this is with the certain dry deodorant, it does have aluminum chloride with has been linked to cancer/other old age diseases. But girl you do you!! xoxo

    • @JustAnotherEmoKidd
      @JustAnotherEmoKidd 8 років тому +8

      I just want to say that correlation does not equal causation. It may be linked to cancer, but that does not mean it causes it. For example, an increase in sugared cereal sales may be correlated to children staying up later at night, but that does not mean that a child eating a sugary cereal is GOING to stay up later because they ate the cereal.

    • @JustAnotherEmoKidd

      +Tara Gibson just because things are connected doesn't mean that the ingredients in the deodorant cause cancer.

    • @taragibson20
      @taragibson20 8 років тому +1

      Emmy Rees The ingredient aluminum has been linked to research meaning that it can cause cancer.....thats like saying just because the sk is blue doesnt mean the sky is blue

    • @JustAnotherEmoKidd
      @JustAnotherEmoKidd 8 років тому +8

      +Tara Gibson correlation does NOT equal causation. they have been linked. that does NOT mean that aluminum causes cancer. just because two things are connected does not mean that one causes the other.

    Pretty sure the only thing you should be washing your lady bits with is a clean cloth and water (unless you have a pH problem, in which case contact a gynecologist)
    Also, CertainDri works really well! I had really bad sweat issues but I got ahold of that and it worked miracles. The only difference is that I had the roll-on stick which you apply nightly before bed

    • @mazzym7780

      patronsaint by lady bits I think she means bikini line. I wash my bikini line with a mild soap and I cover my downstairs area to avoid the soap going in
