You got Celebrity bang on....re: food and theme. We have been committed Celebrity cruisers and last year we did a B2B in Norway and Scandinavia (19 days). NO change in menu selection; NO themed selections for both Norway or Scandinavia. The same old...same old. 4 month later on a Pacific Coastal, it was the SAME menu in the MDR. So, need a change and going on a 35-day cruise with HAL in Feb/24. Always love your observations because you are so objective.
We were there on September 7 - this was one of the highlights of the cruise! Captain Pierre did a great job! You had a lot more ice than we did...we got within one-half mile supposedly.
Curious about your favourite kitschy Alaskan cruise to date? We were on Koningsdam last August with lumberjacks and animal costumes for sail away plus lots of themed menu items and exploration talks. We loved it.
I’ve only been on 2 Celebrity cruises and the first was on Millennium many years ago and I thought it was great! This was a fun way to relive some of those memories. I guess dinner must have been underwhelming… you didn’t even do a dish by dish breakdown like usual! 😱😂
The lack of choice especially if you don't eat seafood for the entrees was shocking to me. I realize a lot of ships have cut back on their offerings for dinner, but it takes me aback.
Coming in late since I was on another Celebrity ship in Alaska! I love Celebrity and I love Alaska, but I don't know if I'd cruise to Alaska on Celebrity again. Great naturalist, lovely ship, but it just didn't feel very Alaska-y. The MDR menus were so uninspiring that I never went - did Murano the 1st night and ate Indian food at the buffet the rest of the time.
Was great to watch this vlog Alaska looks amazing is definitely on our bucket list. Also good to see the ship as we have booked a 12 day cruise on her in Japan.
when you cruise (this trip with Millenium) do you have a basic drink package? or none at all where the coffee is "upcharges" as you mentioned at 13:21 in your video. we had the basic and never paid for coffee, latte or macchiatos. thanks in advance.
Enjoying your views on this trip especially since we did the same two ships in July. Our thoughts were very similar to your final thoughts for the Millennium, especially concerning menu selection, though the food tasted great. Waiting to see what your views will be at the end of the Majestic Princess cruise.
We travelled on this ship 10 years and 9 years ago. Our first try was cancelled due to a breakdown, and we spent four crazy days docked at Ketchcan, then were flown to Seattle, and a we flew into Vancouver, it was a nightmare getting the travel agent to get us home. The reimbursement came, but the next year surprise the same cruise had doubled in cost. The ship when properly working, was very nice.
Getting on the Miracle tomorrow *Sep 10th* for a 14 day Alaska. Looks like it's going to be rain all week next week. Fingers crossed that the sun finds its' way out by the time we reach the inside passage.
Does anybody know when Jay mentions but the coffee's are extra got the coffee shop, is he assuming you were not on any type of plan because we had everything free on the all-inclusive
So with you two almost always being on a cruise, when do you find time for doctors and dentist appointments and other chores like getting your haircut? Just curious.
I think spacing our videos out leads folks to believe that we’re never home, ha ha… We’re home more often than you think. We just don’t vlog that part!! :P
My husband and i have paused the video to argue who would win a bear vs bull fight. His money is on the bear. Claws and teeth. Mine is on the bull. Horns and kicking legs.
I know! We were tired that last night and figured we could do it "later"... then by the time we got around to recording the final thoughts, those dishes had long since left our brains, ha ha... oops!! :P ~Jay

Holland and Princess do the best job with Alaska. Superior cultural experience
Beautiful sunny day at Hubbard with amazing calving!
Love the videos. It looks like Dee got a haircut. It looks great.
Another great vlog great views regards 🇬🇧

What a gorgeous view of the Glacier and you had! Absolutely amazing to be able to hear it!
Thank you two for another amazing Alaska adventure!
You wanted more kitsch? Maybe Carnival is your natural environment? I really love the over-the-top decor on the older Carnival ships, myself.
Those old Joe Farcus ships are the best!! :D

We don’t typically carry a drink package on Celebrity, no.
Disenchantment Bay... Hanky Island... it sounds like everyone there was sad!

Good morning!
What ships would you recommend for Alaska that has the fun theming ?

We will be on Summit next May to Seward. Similar ship. Enjoyed your series.
Summit was our first ever Celebrity ship! Hope you have a fantastic time!! :D

Yes, we never get the all inclusive plan on Celebrity, so the coffees are an upcharge for us.
The tee shirts used to be 2 for 30, I see they went up in price too, I have tees from the good old days when they were 2 for 15!
Loved the series! Id love to try Celebrity...but NOT for Alaska. If you know, you know!

Hey dee and jay how did you guys like alsksa

No ding-dong dinner dish?

I think the peach clafoutis was the only item I was really curious about…
