When i did Alaska in 2019 on the Royal Princess we did the pre-cruise land tour. Rode the train from Denali to the port. Princess really has the process down. We sat our bags outside the door at the lodge and they showed up to the our room on the ship. They also stopped at some point when we got close and reps from Princess got on and went through the train checking people in so once we got to the port it was very streamlined. Just a quick passport check if I recall and pretty much walked right on. I highly recommend the train if you get a chance. It's about 9 hours from Denali but absolutely beautiful and the staff on board were very good and informative.
Love that tunnel to Whittier longest vehicle-railroad combined tunnel in North America at 2.5 miles in length. Been through it both ways getting on and off Alaska Marine Highway. Thank you for the video.

We figure just coming off Iceland, British Isles, and Hawaii over the past few months would be enough of a break, hah… but we’ll be heading to Europe for a river cruise this fall, plus a transatlantic back to the States, so there’s some fun stuff on the way!! :P

We were told that there are issues with the Princess Dining Reservation system on embarkation day. We ended up calling customer service and they made our reservation for day 1.

Our first Alaska cruise was out of Whittier about 15 years ago. Since then we've done two roundtrip Alaska cruises out of Seattle. I will say I much pefer starting in Alaska, because you get the Alaska experience right away. When you leave out of Seattle it's several days before you actually get into Alaska, and honestly I could do without the whole Seattle scene. I will say it's usually a little cheaper flying roudtrip out of Seattle, but doing it this way from Whittier is the way to go.
We just booked our first Alaska Majestic princess tour. We chose a partially obstructed balcony room. is that what your room was or was it in an obstructed view room? We are just wondering because they assured us that it will only have a minor obstruction. Thanks.
After much debate with my friend we booked our cruise to Alaska on NCL because we already cruised with them, so excited. Worth the wait. Do you have any tips for hotels in Seattle and we come from Europe so we have to fly a long while so we wondered if a day in between is enough or Seattle is worth more days?
Did you fly into Whittier the day before and stayed in a hotel or did you fly early the same day to catch the cruise? Just wondering what hotel you recommend there .
We stayed in Seward, which was where our previous cruise ended. Most folks fly into Anchorage and spend the night there, then take a train or bus down the morning of the cruise.

Like seeing Alaska cruises but wow 3 in a row? When are you planning to go southern Caribbean again like grand Turk , Aruba, grand cayman … places we have not seen in a while. Keep up the good videos.
If we invest in flights all the way across the country, we normally get as many cruise loops as our schedule will stand before flying back home, ha ha... traveling to and from cruises gets expensive! We've got a European river cruise and a transatlantic coming up this fall with a hint of Caribbean in there, but our grand return to the Caribbean will be in January with the Icon Of The Seas inaugural sailing!! :D
We didn't end up getting to dine there, but they seemed to have both seating "inside" the venue where it was quieter, as well as out by the Piazza which would be a good deal louder. Not sure if you can request a table location ahead of time, but it might be better "inside" for sure!!
O I loved the majestic in Alaska. They really have it figured out on princess with those medallions.

How far in advance of your cruise did you call?
We had a deluxe aft balcony on Majestic and I didn't think it was very roomy but it sure was compared to this! We had little couch for bed 3.

Was it really as loud in The Catch as it seemed? Seems to ruin any romantic ambiance to hear the party music.
