- It's been a minute since I posted a rink session video, but my trip out to skate in Michigan definitely warrants some documentation! Detroit style is like no other... and for some reasons tends to ONLY exist in Detroit! In this video you'll see my friend Elliot Hardaway and skate partner DJ JayAre rocking moves called the Reverse, Half Turn and more.
Unlike NJ/NY style, Detroit skaters step on the downbeats, lift knees high on the upbeats and have names for each of these pre-choreographed sequences of moves. The moves are called by the skater in the front. I got to learn some of these sequences and to teach some Jersey style during my trip! I'll hopefully have some videos of me fumbling through these moves on my Instagram (@rollingintune) shortly lol, so stay tuned for that! More rink content from Detroit also on the way!

I'm pretty sure that's Keon from Detroit in the red shirt. Unless he's a twin. But if that's kee I'm glad too see him. He was my best friend in elementary. I remember when Keon first started skating. Me and courtez had been on them wheels years before he started skating. But he doing pretty good I there. Lol
