the first 24 minutes are self promotion for the show/series. Bad form. Then for the next 5 minutes Robert waffles about Hollywood memorabilia. After that, between the ads, its quite interesting. Kenny seems unfamiliar with Randy's work outside movies, which is glaring because he's written some of the most poignant and poetic songs of his generation, and consistently over ~50 years, for which I admire him enormously. Oh well, I guess its movie world podcast. Randy is a great film score composers, but I've always thought he saw it as a meal ticket so he could do his important work. I may be wrong. For instance, wandering boy is so sad, and simply could not have been written by anyone who does not have grown children. And probably no-one who does not have grown children can really 'get it'. There 's a certain kind of wisdom that can only come with age. That not to say it always does, there's lots of celebs and rock stars that live in perpetual adolescence.

I think its unfair to say bobby darin didn't get "Sail Away" just because he sounded happy. I feel that the charachter of conniving slave trader needs to seem happy to convince his mark to 'climb aboard'. Also, he would probably take sociopathic delight in his manipulations and misdeed.

I think that he met the arrangement gave no hint of the darkness of the material. I would expect the slaver to sound conniving.
