    Your videos are GREAT…. I am going to get a panther this spring. I am going to take this month to buy my enclosure, accessories and the vinyl background. All based on your videos and confirmed by my own research. I am going to get the plants now so they have several months to acclimate and grow in the enclosure. From what I have seen, some folks get a little frustrated when they buy the plants, the enclosure and the chameleon around the same time. The plants need a head start, in my humble opinion…. ;-)
    Thanks again for your great videos!

    Because I live in a hurricane prone area, I'm I the process of crafting a collapsible enclosure! If everything goes well, I may even offer to sell them! They would be perfect for home use/evacuation use/ or if need be, vacation use. I'm using the standard 24"×24"×48". If it turns out well, I'll let you know! 😁

    We have a Zen habitats hybrid enclosure. It is really great. They provided us with an additional screen top, that we installed on the bottom of the cage in place of of them PVC bottom. So essentially we have a screen bottom, screen below the door and a screen top. We have great airflow with this setup and easy to clean the bottom still. We installed some dragon ledges on the panels and it made our cage easy to setup.

  • @angelamoynahan2627
    @angelamoynahan2627 Рік тому

    Why screen vs bars like a bird cage? Wouldn’t a bird flight cage work and be easier to attach things to?

    • @NeptunetheChameleon
      @NeptunetheChameleon  Рік тому +1

      There’s a few reasons why a bird cage wouldn’t be ideal. First being bugs would easily be able to come in and out of the enclosure, the larger gaps make it more challenging to control things like temperatures & humidity, and the larger gaps on the top would allow for more UVB to penetrate which might sound like a good thing but without a solarmeter those levels could be too high/dangerous for your chameleon. That being said there are definitely people who successfully use bird cages, it’s just not an industry recommendation.

I moved the male because I didn’t want to stress the female. The male is in his new XL cage and he has been so active going for top to bottom and hasn’t eaten. I have had my baby chameleon for about a week. He is approximately 3 months old, purchased from a reputable online breeder. My question is, Is seems to very very afraid of me and doesn't seem to eat. I have only seen him eat once. I started with BSL, and dubia. Then I tried crickets, assuming that is what he was fed.
