      Congrats! question, could be that studying and passing exams is one thing, and having the knowledge to put into practice is something else? Cause I'm afraid that I'm studying to pass an exam and forget the info later as I did in college.

      @@goonerzel8531 CCNA is the foundation for your networking journey. It's like before you understand calculus, you will have to know add, sub, mult, and div. It will be a lit easier to understand advanced IT when you have this. Do not be scared. If you put your heart and your hands on it, keep on practicing, you will not forget about it or at least, if you pick up a book and catch it up, it's gonna be way more easy. CCNA is not just about networking, you will see more IT paths once you got CCNA and when you fully understand it. Go for it! It's worth the investment!

    I am learning the CCNA without ant networking experience. I am just good with computers because I enjoy and have tinkered troubleshot and fixed all kinds of computers. I enjoy installing linux distributions, creating webpages, running servers for IRC, etc. CCNA can be entry level for sure and really it's the best if YOU CAN do it. Computers are all logic, if you are a logical thinker you have a gift for working with computers. Good luck!

      tony45x220 Cisco changed everything. CCENT is gone as are most of the CCNA’s. They are down to 2, the CCNA and the CCNA Cyber Ops. Big changes.
      The Network+ is an excellent substitute for the CCENT. I have mine and it’s worth it.

    • @peterream6508
      @peterream6508 4 роки тому +7

      tony45x220 First, you’re not behind. You’re right where you’re supposed to be. That’s important because you need to compete with yourself. Yes, jobs and all, but don’t compare yourself to others. Be the best version of yourself you can be. It takes a LOT of unnecessary pressure off.
      Two, that path is best if you lack experience. The A+ and Network+ will give you a solid foundation to stand on, one that will last your whole career.
      Three, if networking is the career path you want to follow then the next step would be the CCNA. Excellent cert to get a good start on a career in networking.
      Then get as much experience as possible. That is the number one thing. It’s hard to get that foot in the door at first, but after that, leverage every opportunity you can find.

I wanted to go for CCNA at first but decided I can get the A+ within 2 months first to learn some IT fundamentals before diving in. I mostly want experience, which i'll be getting while studying for CCNA (11 month course) after the A+. I'll be volunteering to the community and wherever I can get hands on experience as I learn networking skills throughout the course also. I am super stoked and already have GNS3 installed. Anyone have an opinion? I am chasing experience most of all. Thanks for the vids, Zach.

    Experience is all IT companies want nowadays, you can have so many certs with little to no experience and they won't hire you but will hire the guy with more experience with less or no certs, so i disagree with having certs will get you into an entry level job based on my first IT job/job hunt experience. You can get certs once you are in your first job but people hit the wall when they have many certs and years and years of schooling and cannot find a job expecting to make a large salary when in reality you still have to start from the bottom still, so its easy to just start out with no certs first. Jobs that get your foot in the door only require "knowledge" and an IT related degree NO certs. That's enough to land an entry level job. The tough part is finding them but they are out there. Its a fact many people are stuck with so many years of schooling and cannot land a job bc they have no experience.
