Hi there! I started a five day course of Solumedrol today and it was nice hearing your opinion and talking about how you're noticing these little changes that are such a big deal! I'm 37 and was diagnosed last October. I have a similar gait to you and the balance issues can be maddening. Take good care. You're lucky to have such a wonderfully supportive partner.
Hey there, thank you for your message. It's always interesting to hear about other people's mobility issues and how it effects them, so thank you for sharing that. Oh yes, the balance issues are extremely infuriating.. I'm continually looking for the next thing to hold on to as I'm "trying" to walk. I was diagnosed with MS in 2013 at the age of 41, but I'd been having symptoms prior to this since 2007 (age 35) after a significantly stressful event in my life (separation) which I believe activated my illness. I'm sorry to hear you're having similar issues, I do understand how you must be feeling. Thank you so much for your kind words, I am indeed extremely lucky to have my wife.. I do hope you have somebody close that can help, or family member. Thank you for getting in touch, take care.
Oh Neil I’ve only just got to your video! I have to say I am just so pleased for you! You look and sound so much better! A little wobble but standing and walking like that is great after just such a short time after the infusion! Teresa you are great staying all that time waiting for Neil to come out of the treatment. Well done. I know it’s not easy. I know you love him but so! Today was David’s birthday. So yesterday I thought I’d break my top left wisdom tooth...just so we’d have something to do today! I was in the chair for about an hour as it was awkward but not painful as such. Fingers crossed that the filling stays put now! (Hands are the same...) Good luck for tomorrow Neil ...oh and Tree that wreath is beautiful! You are a wonder. We managed to get our tree up and almost finished decorating it with our less breakable and precious items, but it looks lovely so that’s good! Much love from very wet northern Portugal! 😷⭐️❣️❤️❣️⭐️🤤😷
Thanks Susan .. a broken tooth, oh dear that's not good at all.. and on David's birthday as well. I'm sure David would have taken you out, you'd only got to say 😉 Yes, Teresa is an absolute star.. I worry about her on her own for such a long period of time, but she insists on being with me, well close by.. we're totally inseparable. Glad you managed to get your Tree up and you're happy with it. As I type this message and look out of the window, it's quite cold but very sunny currently here in the UK. Much love to you guys, from us guys. 💞🙏
I have tears in my eyes watching you stand, and listening to your excitement in your voice! I truly understand the excitement that your feeling, as with this disease you never know from one minute to the next what MS is going to take from you. Know that you are both thought of fondly, and often. I am sending along a Christmas Blessing to you both.
Thank you Rona for your lovely Christmas blessing! Yes, we never know what is waiting for us around the corner do we. Sometimes, things come back and it's absolutely amazing, but then they're taken away as quick as them came. I'm kind of becoming used to this now. Blessings to you Rona. 💞🙏
I haven’t watched your videos in awhile since I’ve been pretty stable and trying not to get obsessive over the “is it ms or is it NMO” game ive been playing for years with my self. But it was nice to pop in and see you and your lovely wife. You are a beautiful couple!💕
Thank you for popping in Ray, it's much appreciated! Yes, it's no fun being in that grey area between MS and NMO is it.. as you're no doubt aware I'm very much there at the moment so I know how you feel. Thank you for your kind words, take care.💞🙏
Very pretty Christmas Wreath. I noticed your cheeks seemed a bit puffy as well. Or maybe not it's hard to tell with the camera. I hope it gets better and better. I also hope the doctors see the progress and learn from it in order to help you more.
Thank you Diane, yes you're not wrong my face does seem to have puffed up a bit but it's not through gaining any weight. That Steroids for you unfortunately. Take care.
Glad the first day went well. Fancy keeping you both apart for four hours. The hospital parking charges are a bug bare of mine too. You're both looking more relaxed at home. 🙂👍
Thanks Dean! Yes unfortunately hospital policy and no visitors allowed so my dear wife had to wait out in the corridor but she was comfortable. We were also in touch continually with our phones etc. Yes the cost of parking is annoying, it wouldn't be so bad if the money went to our NHS. I hope this message finds you well. Stay safe. 💞🙏
Hi Neil & Teresa!! I'm so glad I looked and saw you had a few vlogs. Wow,this is the part of Steroids that is just miraculous! Loved her mask and Bravo Neil I know how it feels. You are walking my friend!!!
Hi Avril! As always lovely to hear from you, I hope you've had a nice Christmas. Yes, on the first day I could feel the steroids kicking in and working their magic, when standing up I had a lot more control instead of wobbling like jelly. Happy New Year to you Avril, lets hope 2021 is better than this year. I praying you are well, and I trust you're staying safe from Covid. 💞🤗🙏
SO AWESOME!!! Oh guys! This is a great Christmas present to me! To see you improving. Trekkie here! And that just thrilled me too. I love you two! LLAP
Hey there "J" .. ohhh so you're a Trekkie!! Excellent, glad to hear it :) In fact this is something I've recently learned about Teresa, that she loves Sci-Fi .. I've only known her 30 years! ha ha. Good to hear from you - Neil & Tree x
Awwwww I’m so happy you got your steroids. So happy to see you 2 lovebirds. It’s amazing how quickly those steroids start working. Wishing you both the best for this holiday with no more side effects. Big hugs you two🤗
This is fantastic news!!!! I am so happy for you both 😊 Can’t wait to see the progression when you finish the last 2 😃 What a blessing 🙏 Teresa, I love your Christmas wreath 💜 Purple is my favorite color 😍 Take care both of you and I will continue to pray! Much love 💕
Wow! Well done! It was amazing to watch you stand up so effortlessly (well you made it look that way 😉) ... It really does work wonders for you & I'm so glad you pursued getting it! Was so lovely to see both your smiling faces throughout! Just beautiful! Totally made my night! Also, gorgeous Christmas Wreath that Tree made ... You are very talented! 💖💖😘😘
Just finished work and watched the video. You have a bit of a twinkle in your eye. You sound more positive and Teresa is smiling away as usual. Wow came down without holding on fanatic. Your assistant lol Omg omg that was fantastic you got up so easy.not bad?that was bloody brilliant. Cant wait to see you ar the end of the week. I'm so pleased for you both Oh and the assistant did a brilliant job
Hey there, and thanks for this .. Unfortunately I've not responded as well as I usually do to this kind of treatment this time. I'm still hoping to pick up, but I don't think it's happening.
Fantastic 👍, glad it has raised your spirits, hope your hands settle down( no picking your nose😉) . Discovery is class. This is so good to see,I will be expecting a full rendition of " heads shoulders knees and toes " by the end of video 3 . I'm about to get a walk up the road, not been out for days. Take care both x
Hey there .. I hope you're walk out went well, it's the same for us we don't go out for days on end. I have to say though, going out is such a struggle at times.. not having to is a nice feeling kind of. And ha ha, yes the hand has corrected itself.. the steroids make you store fluid so I'm pretty sure that is what it was. Take it easy. x
Hi Nic, and thank you. Apologies for the late reply, I'm somewhat behind in comments. Unfortunately the 'control' was short lived and I'm back to not so good at all once again, in fact I'm quite bad at the moment and in lots of pain, not sleeping. Ho hum. I hope you're doing well yourself, and had a good Christmas. All the best for the new year.
Hi and a very early good morning, 12.40am to you both, glad you getting treatment, love your mask Therese, Thankyou for shareing, following and watching from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia ❤🇦🇺
Hello Elisabeth, and thank you. Yes a very early morning for you, I'm guessing you're unable to sleep for some reason (I know that feeling well). Best to you - Neil & Tree xx
Hi Neil, hope is all well with u both, over the moon for u for how quick the steroids kicked in for u bless, hope u feel even more better today, good luck with the rest of the treatment of steroids u got to have, & tell your Theresa the wreath she made is beautiful, love it & the colours 😃 bast of luck for today..stay safe & hope u both have a lovely Christmas 🎄🎅 take care 💙💖 xx
Hey there, ohh another Trekkie.. there's actually so many of us! Pretty sure I've not heard of those programs, but I may well look them up. Thanks for that, and take care.
Hey Marcia, and thank you. We are super pleased you're enjoying our videos, thank you so much for this. Merry Christmas to you, I hope you have a good one despite covid. Stay safe. 💞🙏
This is amazing Neil! I experienced balance issues since 2018 and fall daily. I've got a neurologist appointment tomorrow and see if I can get on methylprednisolone too.
Hey there, the balance issues are just horrible aren't they. Every single time I stand, I have to deal with balance issues and its very wearing as I'm sure you can appreciate also. I hope your appointment goes well.. for me the Methylprednisolone hits the inflammation in my spinal cord hard as a rule and I feel the effects immediately. Not so much this time though, but hopefully given a few more days fingers crossed. Take care.
@@NeilBradleyMS Hey Neil, the balance issues are difficult to adjust to because you don’t always have things to hold incase you do fall. My MRI is always on the brain. I’ve never had my spine scanned. I really hope your mobility vastly improves 👍🏽👍🏽
Hello There Neil and Teresa I am so glad you got got your new treatment I know to did say you will have to more treatments how may days or weeks or months do you have to wait for the next two treatments? Are you going to up date with a video for the next two IV treatments because I want to know how long the treatment helps you for your pain. I know it might take a little while to know how long your pain relief is from the IV treatment but please keep me informed and thank you for the happy birthday wishes for my self. And Neil nice Christmas Socks 🎅 I live in Pennsylvania in the United States I live on the East Coast and unfortunately parts of some of the neighboring states around pennsylvania are getting snow but where I live Pennsylvania I am in. The 18 Foot range for snow about 18 Inches. ⛄ Which I hate snow I don't want it :( but you both take care and I am praying for you both I am hoping this will be your golden ticket for you Neil for pain relief and to be able to move better. Take care From Amanda
Hi Amanda, ohhh we've not had snow here just yet but to be honest it is very rare we do now where we live, usually just a sprinkling. I hope it's not to bad where you are, need to be extra careful. The Steroids are in an infusion over a course of three days at the hospital. I don't have to stay at the hospital, just visit as an out patient for each of the consecutive days. We've filmed a bit on each day, and I'm about to publish Day 2 today (17.12.2020) so hopefully you spot it come though on your notifications. Take care - Neil.
@@NeilBradleyMS yes I did catch your video early this Moring before I had to go out and take care of getting rid of that nasty snow I guess I get around 7 or 8 yucky inches :( My body is in pain but it had to be done and I pray NO MORE SNOW!!! even though the official day of winter for where I live don't start until December 21st and we all ready got it bad and winter did not start as of yet I got a feeling it's going to be along winter Cold is not a friend of mine at all !! If you left a comment on your newly video I will Chat to there when you have got to it or if you did just take it easy tell Teresa I said hello as well
After you and Tree come out of the hospital 🥰🥰 Captain's Log, Stardate 1511.2020 : After receiving my Intravenous steroids to reduce the inflammation in my spinal cord and optic nerve; I look forward to getting better and carry on with my planned respite from my normal duties. Captain Neil and Commander Tree out ✊💋
Hey Neil, My nurse saw me stagger into the hospital, in London, and said I should use the NHS service to take me to and from my appointment. I called the number and my nurse had emailed a note saying I needed transport. Save you car parking fees and the stress of finding a spot. My hospital is ten minutes walk from Oxford Street from tube. Thats how bad my walking is : (
Hey there Indie, thank you for this .. whilst I can still drive I prefer to use my car, because in a way I feel 'safer'. Whilst the hospital transport is an excellent service, quite often we can be left waiting a very long time which can be a painful thing for me. I don't like having to rely on someone else, but I appreciate a lot of people have to do this. The worst thing about the parking can in fact be the waiting for a spot, but at the moment (because of Covid) no visitors are allowed at the hospital, so we were in fact able to park straight away on all three days. Hope all is well with you.
@@NeilBradleyMS fair enough.for you. But driving in London in the west end is a nightmare and its impossible to find a parking space in the streets. Hospital has no parking at great moorland Street. So i have no choice really. Like everyone fed up in lockdown and working full time. At least the global company I work for within IT played a part in the develop of the vaccine. Good to see your walking has improved. Steroids seem to mess with my mind. I burst into tears at Anything when on them. Last lot was infusion 3 years ago for 5 days.
Hi Indie, ahh London is a totally different ball game when it comes to driving and parking. I see why you would prefer hospital transport, for sure. Yes, I do seem to recall at one point the tablet steroids I have to take every day (prednisolone) had an emotional effect, they made me somewhat irritable, a short fuse as it were. Certainly not like me, it did take a week or two to wear off and stop feeling that way. Take care.
Love watching you guys videos and this one so hopeful with just having steroids infusion 👍🏽😁👏👏 Think ill ask for infusion next time instead of the huge amount of the oral version ( not as good, n never helped much with relapse like the infusion does but because of covid19 didn’t want to be in hospital. Next time ill try and get infusion Weather is feeling alot like Fall now here in much lower temperatures and cherry tree starting to loose leaves in the big winds now too Hows weather where your at ? Hope fine Im off to make me tea Big hugs to you both
Hi Mellie, I asked the hospital which type of steroid was more effective, the tablet form or the actual infusion. They said neither, and that both were as effective as each other. But I disagree, when I had the tablets I felt they did nothing for me at all and I didn't improve even slightly. However, when I've had the steroid via IV I do improve (as a rule) however, the last time when I had them was Dec 2020 and I didn't improve that time, but as I say usually I do. We are meant to be in mid-summer here in the UK but the weather (as you say) feels much like Autumn (The fall) with cooler temperatures. Take care, and sending much love and hugs your way - Neil & Teresa.
Can't believe I had not looked this up before......but I just discovered that infusions of methylprednisolone (which you've just had), and solu-medrol (which I was given in hospital back in May) are actually one and the same. I don't remember what my dosage was, but it was an infusion over an hour, every day for 6 days in a row. There was no "flush" like you had, after my infusions. There was only a small amount of saline injected into the IV right after the infusion. Please let me know if you experience any emotional/mood side effects from the steroid, or any other side effects. I am so glad to see that you are feeling better!! Very pretty Christmas wreath!!!
Hey there, and thank you for your kind words. Methylprednisolone and Solu-Medrol is the same drug, it's just called different names depending on where you are in the world I think. Here in the UK we get the infusion for just over an hour for three consecutive days. But, I've also read or seen whereby this is also infusion over a five day period, personally I've never had this. There are some side effects, but as a rule there pretty ok to tolerate, for me anyway.. usually just flushing of the face, heart palpitations (not scary), insomnia that sort of thing. No real mood changes. Take care.
Hope it. gives some relieve and reduce inflammation. I get infusion at least once year If I get real bad always feel my nerves start firing better after infusion.
I wish i could get steroids and feel fine. I started my steroids and they had to stop due to my excruciating stomach pain. Now my stomach is damaged and they need to deal with that first before continuing with my treatments.
Hey Sofia, I’m really sorry to hear this. Are you taking the tablet form of steroids? As a rule I always have a steroid infusion actually at the hospital whereby I have a cannula in the arm, and the steroid on a drip. It then goes straight into my blood stream bypassing the stomach. I know steroids tablets can really irritate the stomach.
@@NeilBradleyMS Hi, they were administering the IV type. I was feeling fine but the next day the stomach pain was unbearable. I did 3 doses but I couldn’t continue. Now I’m at the hospital with a really bad gastritis and active lesions on my brain and spine. I don’t know how they’re going to treat me. My MS flare up caused gastroparesis, that’s what my doctor said and wow... it’s just a lot right now.
Hey there, ok and thanks for coming back to me. Sounds like you’re really going through it at the moment! I’m sure they will find a solution for the flare and hopefully you’ll start to feel better really soon. Hang in there. Sending thoughts. 🙏

@@NeilBradleyMS yes I did catch your video early this Moring before I had to go out and take care of getting rid of that nasty snow I guess I get around 7 or 8 yucky inches :( My body is in pain but it had to be done and I pray NO MORE SNOW!!! even though the official day of winter for where I live don't start until December 21st and we all ready got it bad and winter did not start as of yet I got a feeling it's going to be along winter

Captain's Log, Stardate 1511.2020 : After receiving my Intravenous steroids to reduce the inflammation in my spinal cord and optic nerve; I look forward to getting better and carry on with my planned respite from my normal duties.
Captain Neil and Commander Tree out ✊💋
Ha ha ha Patrick, this really made us laugh when Teresa read it out!! 😂
Love the mask! How fantastic!
It's pretty cool isn't it, that's my wife for you :)
Take care.
That's brilliant best Xmas present
Thank you so much Ann.
Hippy skippy, oh it is a big thing. I’m happy for you.
Thank you so much Michelle. 💞🙏
Love watching you guys videos and this one so hopeful with just having steroids infusion 👍🏽😁👏👏
Think ill ask for infusion next time instead of the huge amount of the oral version ( not as good, n never helped much with relapse like the infusion does but because of covid19 didn’t want to be in hospital.
Next time ill try and get infusion
Weather is feeling alot like Fall now here in much lower temperatures and cherry tree starting to loose leaves in the big winds now too
Hows weather where your at ? Hope fine
Im off to make me tea
Big hugs to you both
Hi Mellie, I asked the hospital which type of steroid was more effective, the tablet form or the actual infusion.
Hi Duane, I didn't realise this was you as you've changed the name of your channel. I hope you're doing ok, and thanks for the message.
Good going its amazing what the steroids can do. I can't get up off the sofa like that so looking good.
All the best to you both 😁
Thanks Adrian, best to you mate.
