Teaching Tinkerbell (my granddaughter) to drive with an old 300tdi she watched your video and didn't tell me until we were out in it ---- so thank you for the help as she works on classic cars --- another female leading the way in a male oriented career
Not a Defender lover, just a Rebecca admirer
Fantastic! Well explained and visually supported. Respect!
Phew! Glad I found this concise video. Thank you Rebecca
Thanks! Just got my first landy (an RRC!) and I wasn’t sure what each was for. Very helpful.
Thanks! I got stuck and your video helped a lot, I thought I knew hw the dif worked but obviously not. I wish you all the best, you taught me so much about my car which I thought I knew but obviously not!
Great explanation - very clear and useful - thanks
1st time i messed with this on my 300 TDI, i was impressed. The next day though, i had a bit of a scare. Doing a U turn, the car lost all drive! i was like what the bloody hell! The laugh was i never had the Little leaver further back enough in Hi, and the bloody thing moved back into N. Also its good practice to select the Low range in a car park etc, just to stop it seizing into up.
Perfect. That is what I needed. I have rrc and needed to know how far the shifter moves left to right and back. Thx!
Very helpful, simple video. Thank you!
Well explained. Thank you.
Exactly what I was looking for, thank you.
Thank you ... just bought a 1994 defender ... will try it as u presented ...
Rebecca thank you for sharing.
Had my share of driving Defenders in the army. I can't say that I fell in love with them, but to their credit, the off-roading capabilities were very good indeed.
Roger that. Great tool but i cant imagine anyone from the military becoming a mega fan
I'm happy to hear your lesson love u R
The sound level on this video is very low compared to the titles at the end
very useful indeed thank's Rebecca
Thank you Rebecca...I have subscribed. 🙂
Great.. I like seeing a lady with car knowledge 👍
great vid!
Great video. Thank you very much
Wow what a beauty !
Thanks rebecca
thankyou Rebecca... should help me with my new defender bowler next week :)
I just watched because I saw your pretty smile, I knew all this and use it often in my 2010 90 2.4 Laro.
Just what I needed thanks
Well I wasn't expecting that! Now I've seen everything
We're Defender lovers...and now maybe Rebecca lovers as well.
Pls explain the clutch operation too Rebecca. Thank you.
0:18 - I didn’t come here to get insulted. Haha
MY NAS Defender 90 has never been easy to shift at the transfer case, especially in and out of lock mode. if there is tension on the drive train, for instance on firm ground it is almost impossible. Any tips?
Hello Rebecca, can you lock diff in Hi if you pull it right, back, then left ?
Hi Rebecca. Congrets.. You are special. 👍😀
Like you very much..
Very informative. And easy on the eyes..
I have a 110, I drive in the desert at an average of 25km. Which off-road gear would be best?
What’s with Australian and english and off roads?
2 weeks in to ownership and finally know what the little knob does1 :)
Question - while Defenders claim to be full time 4WD, aren't they truly only in 4WD if you lock the center differential (ie, little gearshift to the left side)? If the little gearshift is Hi or Lo on the right side, is that actually 2WD? Maybe the correct term of a Defender is they are full time 4WD "capable", but only if you lock the differential? Am I thinking of the terms correctly?
Quick question, please. Can we retrofit a low range on a discovery 4, LR4? Thank you very much and good luck in your racings!
Disco 4 should have low range. It's in front of the gear selector next to the train response settings.
@@RDWGstudios Thank you very much, I am going with a classic defender and just for the reference, some of the Disco/LR4 don't have a low range.
Oh, i´ve always wondered what would be the pratical utility of the neutral position of the small lever in my Nissan Terrano. Now, it all makes sense, thanks to you. For tricking car thieves, why did i not think of this?
Thank you, Rebecca.
Just for that, you´ve got another subscriber. :)
mindtraveller100 for when you’re being towed with the engine on so you still have power to the braking systems etc
Transfer neutral is also for running a PTO off the defender
Great explanation, thank you
Gorgeous and intelligent 😍
N is for when the vehicle is towed. Releases the front axle full time 4 wheel drive. If you are towed with the front only off the ground and not in N. The front wheels will turn as the rears turn. Isnt that it?
Can you do it while driving?
Have you left Cargurus UK? Who are we subscribing to next...been with you since Car Buyers 😂
Funny how she didn’t mention clutch operation...at all! 😂
Because in the uk bro it’s second nature
💪👍
You have got small gear leaver down there
Where do you put it if you want to drive 70mph on the motorway? In the N position?
4H
N won't do anything, that's why she made the joke
4L/low range for crawling or keeping the vehicle from lurching at low speed
never drive with either diff lock on concrete/asphalt at any speed or above 20-30 mph even on loose surfaces--if the tires need to spin at different speeds and you have locked differentials, you will have a very expensive shop bill
I watched the 4 gears, but where is neutral? I see the N, but I can’t find neutral in my D90…
Didn’t find the video very useful but I still love to watch her talk about what ever 👍🏼😉
please Ms Jackson you are amazing more of your voice volume please thank you i love you xx
I do not have a small gear stick down there!!
Wouldn’t touch the new defender the defender was built as a work horse throw a bale or livestock in the back no need for fancy valet services just stick a hose in it. It was affordable or so many farmers would not have bought them and still run today my local farmer is running 3 I would love one but can’t find one that’s not going for silly money.
Can you say small gear stick again please? 😄
They don’t have centre diffs , at least my 2a didn’t , defenders do though.
Rebecca, you make my gear knob sticky, Many Thanks !
"So you've got a small gear stick down there" can I use the multivis lubricants on it? :D
Rebecca, i say let's do a sequel of this most excellent vid of your's: "Rebie does Dallas", sounds wicked, init ? ...if you're in, then get in touch with me (the director), or else we'll just have to look for your look-alike, a hot sexy bird who loves cxxk
In America, we can simplify this as shifting through FULL TIME 4WD H and L. Then PART TIME 4WD H and L.
Americans come up with some weird stuff lmao full time 4wd means it's an all wheel drive with a lockable centre diff in the transfer case, it's never in 2wd like part time 4wds so a car can never be both. it's as simple as 4high/low - locked/unlocked
@@UraDrider so center locked is like a regular 4x2 truck going into its 4x4. But this goes from Awd to 4wd not 2wd to 4wd. I can't believe there was a time that they made them without Center lock but still full time. So basically they weren't even achieving normal average four-wheel drive that every single 4x4 in the world has when switched into 4x4 every chevy, dodge, ford, nissan, Toyota LOL coming up with Center lock as if it's so special when it's basically just actual four-wheel drive instead of all wheel drive
Guys...womens knows everithing!😉
... and for those with Citroen hydraulic suspended cars. Morris also have a range of LHM and LDS fluids. Just sayin'... back to normal service...
Soooooo that’s what it’s for ! 🤔
Rebecca jackson I lowe you
Only has center diff lock because of permanent four-wheel drive on the street. Its nothing special. A 4x2 truck placed into 4x4 low or high, the front and rear shafts are locked at same rate also. So CDL is going into 4x4. Usually it's AWD
Not clearly described... Right n left confusion... You should let us know where to use this shifts H4 and L4, need more clarification. But u r trying we guess, so keep up the spirit.
She looks like sophia.

You didn't explain it very comprehensively. An explanation of differential and more clearly what the wheels are doing in each mode would make it more understandable rather than just brushing over each with a loose example.
Does those lubricants have anything for you and me
