Financial Literacy is one of the most important subjects that are not taught in school. That being said , if you stop learning after you leave the classroom, we have more things to worry about. Keep learning. Keeping growing. Keep going. I believe in you.

In 2020 I first audited my spending for the year before.
I completely turned around my overspending and I now do it monthly.
A great way to start seeing what you’re wasting your money on.

I realised I use contactless for almost everything so I simply went through my statement of a particularly expensive month.
Bills, food and Pub were the most common and I realised just how much I was spending in bars every month.
Then the bars shut over covid and that of course helped turn the whole thing around. 👍

Everyone has their own level of discipline, some listen to it 100% of the time, some don't. For me, I monitor my bills and what's left I save or use for the things I want (I'm in my early 30s) but naturally getting more interested to take better care of my finances. Some of the things mentioned in the video made me feel uncomfortable but it's a good reflection and feeling that way means something needs to be improved. Like always, great video!

I think they meant "sinking fund" instead of "savings account." You would probably use a savings account for a sinking fund but the terms are not exactly the same thing.

    • @mariavictoriasalita5273

What is a sinking fund and is it true that saving money in the bank is the safest way to secure finances at all costs apart from investing and having more income streams? Thanks.

    • @brandonblahnik6002
      @brandonblahnik6002 2 роки тому +1

@@mariavictoriasalita5273 A sinking fund is an account you contribute to regularly (every paycheck, monthly, etc.) to save up for a financial goal such as a down payment on a house or a vacation. It can also be used to cover irregular expenses (meaning things you have to pay for every so often) such as home or vehicle repairs and maintenance. A person can have several sinking funds at once for different purposes (one for their home maintenance/repairs, one for their vehicle maintenance/repairs, one for a big trip they are planning, one for a down payment on a new home, etc.). They are a useful and flexible tool for budgeting and can be used in conjunction with an emergency fund. I am confused by the second part of your question but I hope I've answered the first part.

Knowledge about taxes, yes. No debts and sticking to the rule "A good trend is to not borrow or lend". Very strong financial discipline and an ability to have fun on low budget. Kayak trips are this low budget fun - all it costs me is to get to my launching spot. I only invested in equipment this year after several years of not buying anything so it was spare money waiting to be used. 👍
Having this financial discipline is really something on a different level, especially when I hear from some friends they need to burn over 1000£ on a new phone just because it's new.

Starting after the 1920s depression, the US government enacted FDIC regulations to keep this from happening.
The law mandates that the FDIC backs up deposits, so if your bank fails, the FDIC will pay back your money. Was this in America? Unlike in other countries, US bank customers are protected against this kind of financial calamity. I'm hoping you can get your money back, free of charge.

Show me someone without investment or depend on one source of income and I’ll tell you how long it’s gonna take to go bankrupt.
Investing creates a safe haven for the future.
With the right investment choice that has at least 2% minimum risk with the advice of an expert, profits and interest are 100% guaranteed.
