David Lloyd George was also born in Manchester, but it didn’t stop him being Welsh. When challenged on his Welshness he replied, “I may have been born in Manchester, but I was conceived in Caernarfon”. Face it, no-one wants to be a Mancunian.

I tried dressing like Richard Jobson at school and got my head kicked in. I still love The Skids and this song in particular despite that experience. Maybe even more so.

Little known fact: the skids couldn't afford a tour bus and mr jobson used to give them all a piggy-back around. You'll notice his headlights for the late nights in this video.
All three are gorgeous. Women had an alluring femininity about them back then that is in short supply these days. I blame the ladettes of the 90s for the decline.
I thought the video was OK. The three female singers, apart from being fit, are a parody of the Andrews sisters , symbolic of all the ways war was glorified in earlier decades. The video is all right
What a brilliant song,..should be played every day on radio...keep music sane.😊
Development of the bagpipe guitar sound that went on to serve Big Country so well. Miss ya Stu.
Stuart Adamson is a very under rated guitarist! Very innovative.
R.I.P. Stuart. His work with The Skids and Big Country was great.
Rip Stewart, thanks for the sounds.
SKIDS ya bam.
Saw same comment in another vid. The Old Grey Whistle Test performance

Never seen this great video before , shit hot band Skids were.
...And still are, as their new album "Burning Cities" attests....

No getting away from it. Awesome band. Jobbo is the ultimate in cool!

How COOL is this - love this big time - I thought " Into the Valley " was good- but this nips it ! - much seriously overlooked band ×

The Skids didn't make a dent in America. Stuart Adamson's Big Country did have one or two hits in the US about four years later
