Plastic repair is exactly what I'm needing now..... my old truck has broken parts of the dash & there's no replacement parts
available. And since the sun/heat degrade them over time the junk yard parts are broken as well. So, this & superglue are
methods to save my dash. thank you much !

Paper clips in different sizes and many other things you can now buy at a dollar store. These are so handy for making repairs. The paper clips can be bent at any angle you need. You can join things that are at angles to each other.
Lately I have been saving plastic of different colors to use when making repairs.

Great idea. Completely available solution at home.
Very interesting to see the paper clip becoming the "rebar" for the plastic material.
Also how the paperclip was pre-notched to aid in excess metal removal

Immediate repairs are okay, but in the long run this type of repair is fragile and breaks very easily. You should find a way to make the repaired items more durable.

Agree that the repaired plastic part is fragile.
But the metal part left inside the plastic will become the "bone" or rebar for the fragile plastic.
Only 1 way to find out ... Try it : )
A plastic welding machine is very cheap. Although the ingenuity was good, practically it is a dumb idea. Good only for entertainment
