It sounds like Tanner will be in his back up car tonight.goid to hear. Wheatley broke some ribs and had a collapsed lung. But said he hopes to be racing again soon.

Skagit have changed a lot since I was a kid back from 73 and 74 when I went there. There was no backstretch pit enterence, and only stands on the front stretch. The wall was next to the billboards and all that. I have see much harder crashes when I was a kid. I saw a wingless car went flipping over the billboard signs in the backstretch and landed in the creek, and saw another car went straight up in the air, and landed on the nose splitting the car from nose to tail in half including the engine.
You know man Tanner while not hurt that bad was also a victim in the crash. It wasn't his fault realty is it was no ones fault it was just a accident Skagit and its fans also raised money for Austen and another person
They need to put something like a safer barrier on that track exit. Something to cushion a car if it hits it directly. The location doesn't like it could be hit but like anything else there's always that 1 in million chance.
I hope Austin is doing well soon. The one thing that I think really helped is that Austin was sitting cage first when he first stopped and the first car turned him around so that Tanner hit the bottom of the car. That could have been a lot worse if he had not been clipped by the other car first.
@@danielpos9390 Oh, that sucks. I've been following Tanner on UA-cam for a couple of years now, great young man. I didn't realize, earlier comments said he was just shaken. That just sucks, wish them both the best.
@@danielpos9390 I don't know where you got this info, but it appears to not be true, Tanner is already back racing and his personal Facebook posts say he is shaken up but no serious injuries.
Tanner had nowhere to go and his onboard shows just how insanely fast everything happened. He feels terrible for Austin and describes in detail what, how and why it happened in his latest video. (Contrary to what trolls will tell you he wasn't busy taking a selfie before impact 😒) If you're just interested in viewing the wreck itself then start around minute 12 for context. ua-cam.com/video/yRiqDygmuHA/v-deo.html
I saw this earlier today from another viewpoint. I was ready to trash Holmes thinking he drove right into the guy. Slowed this down to .25 speed and now have quite a different impression. He could not have gone to his left (another car there) and had already started sideways into the corner. Once that slide began, he too was just a passenger. It's been said thousands of times, but just a racing accident. Wrong place at the wrong time for Austen to be tagged by the other car and wrong time for Holmes entering a corner at speed and under as much control as a sprinter can be going sideways.
@@danielpos9390 amputation to his right ear?? If that is true, I can only imagine he took off his helmet while sitting in the car, got out and sliced it on the wing that was all torn up. I've seen torn aluminum on wings and fenders cause a lot of stiches, but never the loss of an ear.
terrible accident. The guy who started it looked a little out of control. Tanner Holmes didn't look like he had any place to go. Hope the guy is going to be OK.

They are also amputating his left ear because it got so damaged from his helmet! He’s also getting his boosters booster booster booster booster shot! I think his toe is also broke on his right foot! I love you! 😘
that pit opening is a fatality waiting to happen. there needs to be a gate there. the other major question is why were the 2 cars that hit him going so fast. did an official not throw the yellow quickly, or are there no yellow lights along that part of the track?
As a driver, if you are in traffic with cars all over and dust and debris you almost never look at the yellow lights. From the back of the pack usually your first clue there is a yellow is cars taking evasive maneuvers in front of you. At full speed it takes a good half a straight to get slowed down enough to really steer around anything.
From the time Wheatley actually hit the entrance and flipped it only took about 2 seconds for the red to come out I just don’t see how they could’ve been much more on top of it than that.

Should pack and water the track down
