Brilliant Martyn, nearly as much swearing as me on brewday 🤣🤣
I felt a little embarrassed, even by my own standards ;-)
@@MadeByMartyn all part of the process matey
Love your brew days, I always try and follow the valve and pipe sequence but I’m a simple guy 😆bleep ! Bleep ! 😂😂😂😂😂😜the first can froject video is out on my channel Friday I’ll send you a link. Hope it does what it’s supposed to do. Happy new year another great update cheers 👍🍻
That pipework is the stuff nightmares are made of!
I'm happy with the canning trial. They managed to survive the post with only one casualty. The cans didn't leak (or explode) and the slightly different strategy dependent upon beer style and carbonation seems to have avoided oxidation.
And the content remained drinkable :-)
Ordered the Proton, cheers for the heads up 👍
It's great stuff for peace of mind :-)
@@MadeByMartyn Yeah 100% just found your channel so got a few videos to catch up on :-) , its mostly Instagram for me , Thanks again
@smallbatchbrewingco5675 You're more than welcome :-)
Is the light flickering to your eye or just the camera? Flickering on camera is generally a side effect of the camera’s shutter speed being out of sync with the hertz of the light. If it’s a 50hz source, then try 1/50 of a shutter to eliminate the flicker. If you dim the source and it’s an LED, it could cause some strange flickering as well.
The flickering is caused by the the LED lights being out of sync. I film on my phone - which even in advanced mode doesn't allow me to lock the shutter speed.
EDIT:
Camera on phone does have a 'pro mode' hidden away, so I can set the shutter speed to be stable instead of automatically changing...
No need for PID with boil. Should just have a controller to dial the power input down but keep continuous power. I use pid for mash but then dial back to about 30 % power. Great video though. Thanks.
Cheers.
I agree that the PID is pretty unnecessary and will probably just use it in manual mode to set the percentage at a gentle rolling boil.
I use those Yellow Ph meters too, cheap as chips, I always have '2' spare as well.. How much is 25kg Golden Promise over there?. Cheers mate 🍻.
For the price of two BluLab pH meters I can get 12 of those cheap ones. Seems such a waste.
The last sacks of Golden Promise I bought were about £26 each I think.
That's a great price it's $148 here 😮💨@@MadeByMartyn
Wow, that's scary! How on earth does anyone afford to brew?
Most of us just go for the cheaper strains malted here or in NZ. Distillers malt is only $84 so brewing is going out of fashion and Distilling is flat out The GO.@@MadeByMartyn
Malt Miller do camlocks with locking pins
These came from MM.
Will see if mine are just old (bought 4+ years ago).
@@MadeByMartyn I’m waiting for them to restock the locking ones, I also had a tube come undone
I'm going to need about 32 of them, so finding a bulk source (and consequently bulk pricing) and getting 50 may be a better option.
Partly my own fault for brewing in sandals contrary to my own H&S policy... Oops :-)
