The destroyers doing dangerous repositioning maneuvers when doing station demolition are what keep making me quit this game every time I get back into it. I love this game up until I get get to that point because I know it's going to happen and it always pisses me off. I have to babysit and micro manage every destroyer so it doesn't happen. My last run I brought 20 phonix Es to take out a defense platform and it killed about of them. If the destroyers just stayed in position, they'd be fine, but 50% of the captains deciding to do a suicide run during station demolition, makes it too frustrating to keep playing. With every major update, I keep hoping egosoft would care enough about the issue to fix it, but they seem to think it's just fine that half your captains want to fly into Valhalla rather than just hold position.
It works decent in 7.1: ua-cam.com/video/_JpVvW-PCOg/v-deo.html , I even had the confidence to be in the lead destroyer. 🤭 An even better example: ua-cam.com/video/s-eiw0Tp8-w/v-deo.html . If at least some destroyers have a clear line of fire for every module, the usually stay in position. I just need 7.5 to maintain that.
Luckily, there are plenty of tutorial style X4 YT clips/channels out there. 😉 Hell, even Egosoft started to give more attention to tutorials in game...took them a while tho. 😋
