Very cute! That cage can be dangerous however and is a bit too small for a chinchilla. They can get whats called bumblefoot (much like hamsters) by walking on the wire ladders/flooring because it hurts their feet over time. Fleece covers are a wonderful fix for this :) Chins also need a wheel at least 15inches in diameter to run on each day, the Chinspin is a wonderful brand whereas most others are too small and plastic.
Sadly that is not a good cage for your chinchilla. The tiny square holes in the ramps you have for her to climb on chinchillas get there paws stuck in them and break there tiny feet :( . Plus the whole cage is too small for your fur baby its not tall enough or wide enough. it also has plastic In it witch your chin can start chewing plastic at anytime and can get loged in there throat and choke. I have a chinchilla and recommend getting the critter nation model 162 double unit cage, it is enough room for up to 2 chinchillas and has plenty of space for your chin to jump around and play! ❤🐭
Maybe needless to say but make sure to read up on body language, what food is toxic for her and especially about the temperature myths :3 I'm very sorry if this was rude but chinchillas are pretty delicate animals since not so many people have them and know how to keep them :3 I wish the bestest of luck and health for her though >w
There’s so much wrong here however it’s better than where she was although she cud break her legs if they get caught in her ramps in the cage / wood chips are not good bedding the room shud b baby proofed for wires.. basically research it. Everything u saw how she lived at Petco was 100% how they shud not live here I really can’t believe those stores are able to house animals😢.. good luck hun there’s tons of fun with proper care 😊
OH NO NO NO PLEASE REMOVE PLASTIC! Because chinchillas have a habit of chewing things they will chew on plastic and they can get a blockage. (By swallowing) Also I recommend getting a bigger cage. They love to climb so you need levels and different floors. So they can play, also I recommend getting some toys, they will eat the bedding if they have no toys to play with. You should also buy another chinchilla because chinchillas like having buddies. So basically to sum it up, Remove plastic, bigger cage, more levels/floors, toys, possible buddy? Chinchillas are more expensive then what’s in this video, their harder than you probably think. (I don’t own a chinchilla but I’m researching so I know all of this)
1:25 That’s how you know you’re okay with each other. You can talk about farting and not feel weird about it. 🤣 1:43 Puppies! You know buying pets from a pet store is often not good? These are often coming from mills where the females are forced to get pregnant and keep making babies. 2:40 Chinchilla!! 3:09 _Somebody_ is *really* excited. 🤣 3:24 It’s only fitting you’d name her after a Tekken character. 5:55 Settling into its home. Suffice to say, I think the Chinchilla likes Lucky.
Don't get an animal (espicily one this delicate ) without extensive research. It's so obvious that you don't know any of the right types of things and care for them. I would recommend giving the chinchilla to someone like a breeder who knows how to take care of them, do monthes of research on them, THEN get a chinchilla. I'm sorry if I seem rude, but having the chinchilla living like this is torture.
@Lucky Lai And I'm sorry if I seemed harsh but it would have neen better to get the cage ready BEFORE you got home. I hope you show what the cage is like now at least.
Elena Sergeeva that’s what I was implying to say so they would get rid of the chinchilla so it could be relocated to a better place with nothing that could kill it and a person with better knowledge than this person who did nothing to research the animal before that bought it
HORRIFYING!! The fact that the pet store, clearly knows nothing on how to house and care for chinchillas, is the first warning sign. She probably didn't know the first thing she should have done, was to take the chin to the vet, to make sure she didn't have a blockage from all the plastic they allowed her to eat! But they sold her even more plastic, including that terrible cage. And did they tell her that Chins are highly prone to heatstroke if it gets to warm? Did they know how to advise her on the chin's strict dietary needs? Probably not. Still I hope this little chin is okay. In any case, it's important to know a Chinchilla, is not like a hamster or gerbil. They require a lot of research before getting one and a proper set up is expensive. To do it right, it can cost over a grand, seriously.
She is adorable happy for you take care of her later on when you can you could get her a bigger cage I have 5 but I have gaint cage I love all my 5 little baby's
The cage is a fine size but no plastic should be used because they could chew it which could cause blockages and you should cover their ramps with non-pill fleece because they could cause bumble foods and you should also add a few ledges, wooden, or lava ledge 🥰
Please, NO PLASTIC RULE IS A MUST! DON'T USE PAPER BEDDING! and put more ledges. Please join the Chinchillas Owners Group at Facebook, instead of this little innocent creature living it's best for 10 years and more, it will result to sudden death or shorten chinchillas lifespan. Please educate yourself by joining the group. Hopefully you do that. 🙏
I actually recommend you take out the plastic and cover up the top bar thing because that can hurt them fleece would work and put some more toys and get a bigger cage (no hate towards you)
You seem to not want to do anything but good but the cage is much too small for a chinchilla they need a lot more space also if there is plastic in that cage please remove it plastic is toxic to chinchillas

As well the bedding is paper based that if you're chinchilla eat the bedding is really not god!
@@galivainer841 They will only eat bedding if they have nothing to do. So if you give your chin toys and things to do they won’t eat bedding.
This hurts pleasssssssssssse! Do some research

@Lucky Lai Ok I would reccomend a critter nation cage or anything bigger is great.
@Lucky Lai And I'm sorry if I seemed harsh but it would have neen better to get the cage ready BEFORE you got home. I hope you show what the cage is like now at least.
So the chinchilla cant be seen and must remain hidden so then ........its a ninja chinchilla!
Just so you know this is a 20- maybe 30 year relationship
No she is abusing so 5 years
If they are both adults then t doesnt matter but if one of them is a minor then it does
