  • This is how you can very easily make a balance adapter cable from a standard 3s extension cable.
    No soldering or modification to the original charger cable needed.
    - Cut the outer + and - wires at about 7cm from the side which will go to the Zino charge cable.
    - Strip both sides of the wires and twist them together (I used a ferrule to make it neater)
    - Attach banana plugs
    Total time needed, less than 5 minutes.

    The wires will pull out eventually. Solder is better but if you don't know how I guess this cheap setup is fine. I like all my wires in heat shrink as well so it looks more professional. Good Video! ua-cam.com/video/1S2Tr7FQSrs/v-deo.html

    i'm new in drone's area and i just take my first (Zino pro),
    Which charger do you recommend for me to charge 3 batteries at a time?
    I have bought the version with 2 batteries and i'm thinking to buy the upgraded 5000mHa battery.

    I understand this config but... -what is the female end connector (style/name) (for Zino cable) & what male connector not the banana plugs -but the other that goes into the bal charger for reference. Or should I just order that whole set & figure it out...? Just curious. Oh, btw -thank you for all the help! Awesome! 👏 does it mater if I get the mini or regular b6 unit?

    • @FransvandeKamp

      I am not sure which part you mean by "the female end connector (style/name) (for Zino cable" but the the part from the Zino cable that attaches to the battery might be proprietary, I have not been able to find that connector anywhere. The part that normally goes into the Zino charger is a JST XH 3S connector.
      I think it is cheaper to buy the standard 3S extension cables than to separately buy the male / female connectors, a crimp tool and silicone wire.
      It does not matter if you buy the mini or regular b6 as long as you make sure that it has a LiHV charging mode and I would recommend a genuine SkyRC brand and not a generic / unbranded B6

      Yes, it is possible to parallel charge multiple batteries but to use a hobby charger safely, you need to make sure that you know how they work and what you are doing. If you do not fully understand how they work, you should probably not use them.

    One question please:
    Why do i have to modify the battery cable?
    Will be there any problem of i connect the battery cable to the balance charger directly?
    is it going to charge with no problems?
    Please explain to me in simple English because my mother tongue is not English.

    I bought a Zino. If I want use the SkyRC S65 (2s-4s) balance charger could I just ignore the 5th pin? SkyRC S65 has 5 pins and Zino cable just 4.
    I would make a cable with a jst 5 pins on one side ignoring the last pin and on the other a jst with 4 pins conector. Will it work?
    Thanks in advance.

    • @FransvandeKamp
      @FransvandeKamp  5 років тому

      I am not familiar with the S65 but I think that the 5-pin socket will accept either a 3,4 or 5 pin balance plug. So you can make your cable like this postimg.cc/nMx8nGbR
      The 5th pin on the balance port of the charger will not be used.
      The 2-6S port on my Turnigy UP160 works the same postimg.cc/D4nPRzN6

    Hello, the three Zino batteries that I have do not last for 3 minutes "they have one year", I have not used the Zino for 5 months and I have always charged them with the original charger with three cables that I bought separately with the 3 at the same time and I think that there is the problem "the charger", now it is time to buy batteries, Hubsan has released a new 11.4v and 4200mAh batteries, they are on Aliexpress, they are more capacity, they are black and red, please give me your opinion and a good charger so that they last a little longer than the first ones, orient me how I should keep them when I will not use them for a long time, greetings

      I have no experience with the new released batteries but I would advice a good quality brand charger like the SkyRC or ISDT chargers and use the storage program to charge/discharge the batteries to a safe voltage for long-time storage.

    Hello, it is a LiPo battery but you charge with LiHv mode. What is the reason? Thanks

    • @FransvandeKamp
      @FransvandeKamp  5 років тому +2

      No, it is a LiHv (LiPo High Voltage) a standard 3S LiPo is marked with its nominal voltage of 11.1V (3.70V*3 cells). These LiHv batteries are marked with a nominal voltage of 11.4V to enjoy the full capacity, they should be charged to 4.35V per cell.

    • @FransvandeKamp
      @FransvandeKamp  5 років тому +2

      @@volkanyildirim You can still use your charger on LiPo mode but it will only charge the cells up to 4.2V so you will not get the full capacity. Maybe your charger can be set to charge to a higher end voltage but I would recommend to just buy a new charger that has LiHv mode.

    Hi, I have prepared the same balance adapter cable for Zino battery and I also use Skyrc B6 mini charger. After charging, although the charger shows voltages like 4,33-4,35 on each cell, my voltage tester shows 4,18 on the last cell of Zino battery. Voltages on first and second cell are similar to those shown on the dispaly of charger. Program which I used in the B6 mini: LiHV balanced charging, 1,5 A.
    Did you make any adjustments to the b6 mini charger? Do you get balanced voltages on each cell after charging?

    • @FransvandeKamp
      @FransvandeKamp  5 років тому +1

      No, I did not make any adjustments on the B6 mini charger but I have multiple of those cheap voltage testers and they all show different voltages even on testers of the same brand / type. A lot of them are not very reliable and I now only use an ISDT BC-8S tester.

      That depends on the charge current that you use and I would advise not to set it higher than 1.5A because of the thin wires of the Hubsan charge cable. I only use the B6 because it uses a proper balance algorhythm.
