  • This video explains the concept of FRAP in details .Fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP) is a method for determining the kinetics of diffusion through tissue or cells. It is capable of quantifying the two dimensional lateral diffusion of a molecularly thin film containing fluorescently labeled probes, or to examine single cells.

    sir how can we differentiate by observation between the lipid flip flop movement and membrane bound protein movement ? is there difference between the specific fluorescent metarial used for both? just curious.

      U can use different coloured fluorescence molecules for two different type of molecules like lipid and proteins.

    Phospholipids cannot have flip flop movements if I’m not mistaken.

      They can .

      They can but very very slow .. only if you use enzymes for faster movement
