Love a solid back to show off the quilting.
Good afternoon from New Hampshire I am excited about the Wild West PMQ. It will be my 1st. time
I love a non-directional patterned fabric for the back. Thanks for the info about the predominant quilt colors in the swatches! I already see 5 colorways I really like!

I like to pick one of the fabrics I used in the quilt for the backing and it’s usually patterned. I also like to add a couple of orphan blocks to the backing if I’m running short on backing. Am loving cotton cuts! Going to order one for my cousin in a different color wave than I’m making and work on it together. What fun!
Love a pattern background to compliment the colors/pattern of the quilt. I don't want it to contrast the quilt, but I also find a solid too much without something to break it up.
On older style I like a plain backing. On modern a design. On vintage flower I like a muted backing
I typically like a big floral for the backing or minky.
I love to use a large pattern cotton. I definitely want to hide the quilting and patterns are great for that
I love all sorts of backings and love to include some piecing on most backs. My favorite though is 108" backs so I don't have to piec+e them!
I use patterned fabric on my backing. I typically buy the minimal amount I can get away with, and add in leftovers from the making the quilt top. I'll sew together strips of leftover blocks or squares and add it down the side or middle.
I like a print fabric vs solid for backing for more interest to the quilt, but matching colors in the front.
I am fairly new quilter and have finished a few tops but not chosen the backing. But I think the backing should complement the front. I think I'm trending towards small prints and lighter colors for a backing. I did my first PMQ with Carnival, Ring Toss and loved it. Need to put it together but love the pattern. Will do Wild West when we can order it. Hope this answers the question from the live this morning.
I used to like the busy backings to hide my quilting flaws. Now I am more comfortable with my quilting and like it to be seen. Still, solids are boring so I like some sort of texture with a smaller pattern or flannel. Flannel really shows off my quilting and adds a nice feel to the backing.
I prefer solids for backing because it's usually not seen anyway.
I prefer prints for my backings as I think they are more fun and versatile for the back of a quilt. I quilt my quilts myself so I think they also hide any mistakes. lol.
I’m a sucker for solid minky. It’s a pain to sew because it’s so stretchy and fuzzy but the finished quilts are so snuggly!
I prefer minky for backing. Everyone I make them for ask for minky on the back. I have made a couple without minky and will do a pattern.
I prefer patern background to compliment the front
I tend to pick small prints for backing…but it sounds like I need to entertain the idea of minky 🤔
I prefer fabrics with a pattern for the backing of a quilt. It adds pizazz to the quilt.
I want that bright moda grunge!!!!!😊
I prefer solids on the back. . .
I like pattern backings because they hide quilting boo boos.
Are those two positions on the color wheel always the most prominent, or are they specific to Wild West?
IS there early sign up this time?
I seem to be drawn to batiks. But for the backing I like a busy coordinate fabric. I self quilt my quilts on a domestic. It hides boo boos. Thanks for the live today. Enjoyed it very much.
Minky, always minky on the back
I prefer prints. I can’t sew straight to save my life.
I would strongly suggest not to use minky if you are going to FMQ on your domestic. It has a lot of drag as you are trying to move the quilt around. It can be done, it's just not a fun procress. Especially as you do larger quilts.
