While running, they are inspecting whether there are any abnormalities on the tracks.
Since there are very few of them, it is considered very lucky to meet them.

And confirmed, there's almost no tourists roaming the streets, even in Tokyo I felt like I must be the only one during my time there just a couple weeks back.

Congratulations Hannah! I spent October with my son/grandkids/extended family in Nagahama. It took over 3 years and a visa to get there. When my son showed me one of your old videos, I told him I followed you and how sad you were about having to leave. But you look SO happy to be there now. Been home for only a month and can't wait to return. ❤ JP
I just returned yesterday after visiting my daughter & was genuinely shocked at how few tourists there were. Selfishly it was great to see some sites empty. Perfect photo ops, but clearly many shops are still completely closed. Hopefully travel gets easier and people go back.

Thank you so much for calling attention to the issue with animal cafes. I saw a bunny one on a video once and it was depressing to me. They were kept in small cages until a customer would pick them to go out. Bunnies need plenty of space and that place was not providing it.
Japan made me a train otaku. There is so many cool types of them, that I can't help but get excited.
I don't get it. But then again I don't get watching random ball sports. Maybe not human.

Congratulations! Although visa things can be so stressful, it's good you kept your head up and were patient. The system feels uncaring, but it's really just impersonal and slow like any government anything. Glad you're back!

I used to live near the shinkansen garage, and from my bedroom, I would see Doctor Yellow all the time heading in and out and the garage. Never knew it was that special until (same) I saw it on Lisa's Instagram!

Many foreigners in Japan use the 90day reset trick to stay long term. Basically you visit Taiwan or Korea (or any country you like) every 90ish day then come back

Animal cafes:
Even cat and dogs Cafés are often really shady.. especially the bigger ones in tourist areas.
Please search for good ones that are like shelter with the option of adopting or with older/weak animals.
Never ever go into those pet stores where they rip them away from their mums way too early and toss them away if they don't get sold.

Just spend 3 weeks in osaka / tokyo myself came 26th of october and stayed til 14th november.
When i arrived practicly no tourists still, though when i left it deffinitly had started to pick up in Tokyo.
